Oh boy, this hotel would take the gold medal for the dirtiest and miserable room award. Not for the fact that there are many place within walking distance for a nice meal near it, I would have given up and left for another hotel.

China > Shanghai Region > Shanghai > Jing'an / Nanjing West Road
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same
quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
