First of all, I'm deeply gratefull to Tina & Johnny for their favor. They got thoughtful consider to us for the spa, swimming, tour and even a reservation for other hotel restaurant. I never forget their kindness. If you stay the hotel, you must visit the BAR. You can drink a wonderful cocktail that you never experience before. We had...

People make a hotel not the building. Le Sun Chine has marvellous staff. My suite of rooms was airy, comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast was delicious and ample. The reception staff were attentive, kind and spoke excellent English. Good value for money in an expensive city. Well done Le Sun Chine!

I could never imagine the beauty and intricacy of this hotel before I went there. Hidden from the busy traffic in the heart of Shanghai, this small yet versatile hotel offered a perfect experience of staying. The room is very much the old-shanghai style as it is not too big. The decoration is just wonderful. Anyone will be impressed by...

I agree with all the other reviewers. Le Sun Chine is a beautiful small inn that is well-run and very accomodating. We stayed in a family suite which was perfect for us. Dinner in the hotel was very personalized and quite good. The only thing I would wish is that it were just a bit closer to the Subway stop...

Stunning experience. This is what hosting really means. Rarely previously seen personalized attention, very good bar (cocktail knowledge is right there) and indeed excellent food made me stay in the hotel after work every single evening. The menu changes every day so I just let them bring me what the Chef had in mind and had a culinary revelation (well,...

From May 9th - 12th 2012 I was a guest in this small French hotel that has only about 20 rooms. Their business seems to be linked to a very nice restaurant. I would have never known about this hotel had it not been for Professor Huang of the Shanghai Finance University that was hosting a symposium for the 30th...

Le Sun Chine is the best hotel among the 5-star hotels I have stayed in Shanghai. It has a low profile, but the service, food, decoration, room are just perfect. That is a place everyone would want to stay and relax after a busy day.

I say 'extra special' because the staff and management really go the extra mile for you here. I was truly impressed with their dedication and friendliness. It's a new place, so there are still a few teething problems, but any little glitches were made up for by a helpful attitude. The room was enormous, a genuine 'suite', the decor very...

Maybe not easy to find at first, but this is also the reason why it is a nice secret and quiet place in the hassle of shanghai. 1930's style, beautiful rooms, amazing indoor pool and spa facilities, great shanghainese cuisine. Nice service... Yes it could be more personalized even, but by Chinese standards, it's very well done. Its a new...

Neighbourhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
