Fabulous location. Near lots of shopping and eateries. Great Wi-Fi, excellent breakfast. No complaints whatsoever. It is in the city center. So there is quite a bit of hustle & bustle during the day. But at night it quiets down nicely. Just watch out for the people on the electric scooters. I notice that most scooter drivers wear dark clothing,... More

This 5* hotel is superb - service and facilities were topnotch. We stayed in a corner suite on a very high Executive floor, one floor below the exec. Lounge. There is an interior stairway connecting the two floors so we never had to wait for elevators to access the lounge. Super service in the lounge. After one visit, the staff... More

This is a very good hotel. The rooms are nice and clean, the lobby has a bar and a nice place where you can just sit or have business meetings in. What really caught me was the amazing buffet they serve either for breakfast or for dinner. They offer a variety of chinese and western dishes. So we didnt bother... More

Tried this hotel for the first time. Previously staying at a hotel nearer to office than this one. Decided to try a new hotel in this trip. I am not disappointed at all. I am glad I gave this hotel a chance. It is wonderful in terms of service and location. Breakfast buffet is huge but I must say quality... More

A prime and recent property with fantastic rooms and bathrooms. Just of few minutes to Nanjing road and People's park. Hotel limos to and from airport are a bit too pricey 800 + and almost 3x the cost of a cab, so avoid unless you need luxury transport.

Dear Renaudir, Thank you for your review and for selecting our hotel on your recent visit to Shanghai. A limousine is indeed the most convenient and comfortable option when travelling to and from the airport. More economic options would be the taxi, note that bi-lingual taxi cards can be downloaded from our Marriott website, and also the subway depending on... More

Something about the service standards makes this hotel my must-stay in Shanghai. Check in is polite and detailed, with some water to quench the thirst from airport. Turndown service makes sense, a napkin for when you step into bed, remote control by your bed and bottle of water by the bed. Location is good with people's square metro 5 minutes... More

This hotel is close to the Bund and Nanjing road so depending on what brings you to Shanghai, I think it's a good central location. The hotel is what you'd expect from a full service Marriott . . . great service, nice rooms, and an exceptional concierge level for gold and platinum members. It's also connected to a couple coffee... More

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
