The Marriott City Centre is particularly well located. Shopping outlets and dining options abound in its immediate vicinity. Enjoying a walk along bustling Nanjing Road down to the Bund and its attractions including the Yu Gardens are all possible from this location .Deluxe rooms are spacious and well equipped. Of particular note is the helpful staff who appear very well...

Dear Tycon, Thank you for staying at our hotel and for highly recommending our property to the TripAdvisor community. The location of the hotel is indeed highly desirable with Nanjing Road, one of the busiest shopping / pedestrian streets in the world, and many other attractions within walking distance. On a future visit I can highly recommend booking one of...

We got a family suite with 3pax breakfast included for less than 300 USD per night including tax and service charge (which is ridiculously high in China). You get a room that comes with 2 toilets, one bathroom with a water shower strong enough to inflict pain (a good thing), individual temperature setting in the living room is separate from...

Dear EHOG, Thank you for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor and especially for the most wonderful title. I am delighted that you loved our Family Suite. This is a new room type that we added earlier this year and is always reasonably priced. This suite, with a separate bedroom and living room, is ideal for many...

It is quite convenient, and just 1-2 train station travelling to a famous tourist spots. 5mins walking to train station. The hotel is clean, comfortable, not crowded. The most surprising is its shower set which is THANN! Worth to go. A bit strange is I requested water and a pair of slippers at one time, but i don't know why...

This is our 3rd time in Shanghai and we've stayed in different hotels. This time, we wanted to try the Marriott City Center. Overall, highly recommend. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean. The other Marriott nearby in Shanghai showed signs of dated bathroom and mild molds, but NOT this one. So, I was really happy about that. Bed was...

Short weekend in Shanghai during one week business trip in China. Fresh hotel in the city center. Good for first time visitors. Easy to access nanjin road and different subway lines. Nice and decent skyline room. A bit too touristic and would try some other Marriott hotels in other areas.

We enjoyed a 5-night stay at this nicely-located hotel. It was nicely entral to many of the activities we had planned. Breakfast was an amazing selection of foods of both eastern and western cultures; and the...

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
