The place was great, very good service, almost everybody speaks english and the location is the best you can get. Near subway stations, shopping stores, etc. The pool is very relaxing and is almost always alone. Check the spa highly recommended.
My husband is an airline pilot and stays in hotels frequently. He said this is one of the best hotels he has stayed in, especially surprising since it is a Howard Johnsons. We decided to try it since the price was good and the reviews...More
The hotel is difficult to rate. On one hand the breakfast is very good and varied, the check-in was efficient, and the massage department gave me the best foot massages I have gotten in a long, long time.

rather spacious and clean room, excellent service and friendly staff
TIP: be sure to visit the spa during the late evening for a relaxed swim. It has a nice pool with a glass ceiling so you can see the lights from the other buildings.

People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and
work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
