I am not a super fan of this hotel because I stayed on the 21st floor and it was hot the entire time I stayed there. I had them check the AC unit and bring me a fan. My room must have been 79~80 degrees the entire stay and I hated it. I asked for a different room and they...

Great hotel, very central to the bund, nanjing rd, metro, hop on off bus. Great service and family friendly. Great lights at night. Try the food vendors around the hotel - delicious. Highly recommended.

The hotel is right in the centre and is an easy walk to some major sights and shopping centres around. The food in the hotel is great , there is a small shop in the hotel, restaurants etc but the staff is the best part of this hotel. Very polite and helpful! The one part I would change is the...

The price is good for Shanghai. The prices in the mini bar is humane, so is the cost for room service. Nice rooms even if they are not glimmeringly new. Value 5, feeling 4, hence the title 4.5. It is still a strongly recommended place as it is really price worthy.

This local high class hotel has not much name, but is great in both location and the quality of its offering. 1 block from the pedestrian shopping street Nanking Road, less than 10 minutes walk from the Bund and between two subway stations it is a great spot to start experimenting the fabulous Asian metropolis. The hotel has all a...

The location of this hotel can't be beat. We are walkers/metro users and the hotel is situated a block from the pedestrian street, and equidistant from the bund and people's square, thereby convenient for a few metro stops. There are a number of mini marts and food stalls around the corner as well as shopping, coffee shops and other services....

Still nice rooms and the location near Nanjing Road is good. But breakfast keeps getting worse. No serviceminded personnel. Even if the selection to start with is average, a lot of things are empty and it is hard to find anyone to ask for help. Two times when I went for more food a waitor started cleaning the table. There...

This hotel was average and disappointing. The fixtures in the bathroom were low in height, very strange and I wished I had cholorox bleach with me as the shower was not clean. The room was dark and the bed average at best. The elevators were very slow. After staying in beautiful hotels in China, it was disappointing.

I spent my first night, ever, in China here and after 2 nights out of Shanghai, returned for 2 more. The hotel is generally good. An impressive marbled hallway is staffed by a friendly and efficient concierge and uniformed porters. The reception was less good. The area looked tired and language difference was an issue. The restaurant (only used by...

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. It is a lovely hotel with a lovely room with lots of space! Very comfy bed and very clean. During our stay our heating wasn't working, however we were provided with a heater right away. Would definitely recommend to stay here and it is good value for money!

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
