While the hotel itself was more than adequate, access was a bit difficult. First, the people were nice; although, only a few spoke enough English to be helpful. My room was fine: good A/C in 100 degree heat, a comfortable bed, quiet and dark at...More
Finally I booked a room named "Garden View" that was not actually facing a wall. The Hotel was built in the 30s, it's extremely charming for those who enjoys heritage building. It's clean, well maintained, an (other than myself and the receptionist) nothing is newer...More
I have stayed at this hotel time 7 or 8 times, and have always enjoyed it before now. The rooms are very stylish and beautiful, and the service has been very good. I (and many of my co-workers) come to Shanghai often for work so...More
It is an old hotel dated back to 1930s. The rooms still decorated with an old style, and accompanied with dated utilities. The location is really convenient for all kinds of activities and room is quiet at night.
This is a old building and require immediate rehab. Rooms are just OK. Some of the furniture is in broken stage. Late night room service is poor. Language is a big problem at front desk staff.
Location of hotel is its biggest plus point.

The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same
quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
