• Location wise, one cannot have any objection • Metro: ca. 5 – 10 mins walk from People's Square station, exit 14. The only disadvantage is, only staircase at this exit • German power cables can fit directly into power sockets without adaptors • Power plugs next to bed have USB, if you want to charge while surfing in bed, bring a charging cable with at least 1m long • A small portion of the windows can be opened, which is very nice to get fresh air • Room is nice and clean, I believe this room type is newly renovated a few years ago • Sound proof is quite ok, of course one cannot expect that you hear nothing from corridor, but at least I hear nothing from neighbouring rooms • Did not have breakfast in hotel, since there are a lot of local breakfast choices nearby, they are so tasty and cheap • Hotel provides instant coffee, 5 types of tea bags, tooth brush and paste, comb, cotton pad, shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, hair dryer, shower cap, box tissue, toilet paper • Fast and stable wifi signal

Everything is perfect with this hotel. From inside to outside, everything are new and classy. Totally nothing to complain about. Staffs and room service are perfect , very friendly.
Hotel is conveniently located at Nanjing road, main walking street in Shanghai, 3min from Subway. 20mins from Hongqiao Ap and 45mons from Pudong Ap.
Will not hesitate to stay at this hotel everytime i visit shanghai.

The hotel's location is very convenient near a lot of sight spots such as the Bund, Nanjing Road, and close to the metro People Square Station. The staff at the Front Desk is friendly and professional, initiatively recognized my IHG membership, and provided us with drinking coupons. My son is so joyful when we stay in the Crowne Family theme room which has a cute carton-imaged tent and some welcome cookies and sugars.

First, I would like to thank Ms. Starry Cui for making this stay a great experience for us this time at the Crowne Plaza at Nanjing Road. Starry was extremely helpful since we checked in to the hotel and took the extra step in accommodating our preference.
The hotel itself is conveniently located at the Nanjing Road and right next to the People’s Square. The lobby has directly access to both the Nanjing Road and Jiujiang Road.
The breakfast section is good and the hotel has a rather modern gym. The swimmer pool unfortunately was in maintenance so did not have a chance to check it.
Overall, a great stay and will not hesitate booking again when visiting Shanghai next time.

This is not a 5 star hotel, from check in where the concierge was unfriendly and told me nothing at all about the hotel and no bell boy to help with my suitcase to my very dated tired looking room. However the worse thing is the total lack of sound proofing you have music all night then construction and traffic noise from early in the morning. When I call they will only give me a new room at 11. Worst hotel experience in China ever. Also room service stops at 9pm so if you get off a flight expecting food and maybe a drink- dont.

This hotel is 5* and the best we stayed at out of the three countries we visited on this trip. Including several other hotels in Shanghai. Located where you step out onto Nanjing Rd from the back exit of the hotel this was an ideal base to explore Shanghai. Only a few minutes walk to the train, People Square and approximately 15 minutes walk to the Bund down Nanjing Rd to see the beautiful lights of Shanghai. There are several small tram style vehicles in the middle of Nanjing Rd, for 10 Yuen it takes you quite a distance down Nanjing Rd and stops only a 100mt from this hotel so good for tired feet after exploring. Also only a few minutes to a Big Red Bus stop if you want to do a hop on hop off tour.
The hotel is luxury from the lobby to the decor and the spotlessly clean and well maintained rooms.
Room: 1 bedroom suite which had a separate lounge area. (The lounge was also a sofa bed) Bedroom has 1 large bed or you can request a twin style room without the lounge. Small fridge/table TV /Coffee making facilities Water provided daily Safe Wardrobe Toiletries /hair dryer provided Big bath Views from the room
These rooms are very quiet, can’t hear the lift or people in other rooms.
Buffet breakfast had a good selection, fruit, bacon, eggs, pastries, breads, coffee, juices. Western and non Western options. Can also take a coffee with you in a travel cup.
Staff spoke quite good English in the restaurant and at the lobby.
Great gym and indoor pool.
Would be my go to hotel on returning to Shanghai.

I visited shanghai quite often but this is my first time in Crowne Plaza. I chose this hotel because of the location with a very reasonable price, the hotel facilities was good but unexpectedly most of the staffs here can’t speak English was a bit disappointed until the next day i met one lobby girl her name is Fairy, she speaks very good english and surprises me the moment she started speaking in my mother tongue. She was the most lively ones in this hotel from then i always look for her help i was so pleased by her service my trip this time couldn’t be this great without her help.

It was my second visit to the hotel in two consecutive years during Shanghai Cycle Expo. Situated right on the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Plaza and next to the People’s Square Metro station, you can’t have a better place to stay at Shanghai.
As a IHG member they upgraded me to a renovated and refurbished room. The rooms are as usual big in size and well appointed. Has new sofas and fully refurnished. Best thing is fully renovated bathrooms now have separate shower cubicles and tubs both. Overall very comfortable and clean room and toilets.

When checking into a hotel, a tourist tax and a security deposit in the club of 5000 CNY are blocked on the card. There is no refund of the deposit, at the reception promised within 4 days, no more, but there is no refund on the subsequent actions card. I wrote an email to the hotel and received an unsubscribe. Be careful when booking this hotel, but be aware of the dishonesty of the hotel staff.

The hotel was very well situated, renovated, yet keeping that historical charm in the main lobby. The rooms were very comfortable, the bathrooms well lit. The staff was extremely helpful and amazing! They were very kind from the reservation time to our check out, always able to accommodate us and answer our interrogations. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
