Be sure to have any special arrangement documented rather than have it confirmed thru the phone. The one mistake that i did. Will arrive in Shanghai early morning and called the hotel informing them of this and requested an early check in and to confirm on which date should be booked, the day before or the day of arrival itself....

I have been frequently to the hotel ( 2, 3 times per year ) and it is a right compromise between quality and cost in a very expensive town as Shanghai. Very good the room and the breakfast. A little too expensive the restaurant considering that is not located in the city.

Stayed for one night end March. Two minutes walk Metro line 2 so easy access Magreb to/from Pudong. Excellent restaurants close. Good, clean room, plenty light, easy internet connection but no Google. Would stay here again.

There's nothing wrong with the Grand Trustel and, actually, it would easily pass as a 5* hotel in most cities around the world. However, not in the grandeur of Shanghai... Here, its 5th * could be questioned, in competition with the likes of Ritz-Carlton, Waldorf Astoria, Hyatt, Mandarin, and more. Good location, two steps away from downtown Shanghai, and reasonable...

...except for its distance to the trade show area of Shanghai. The hotel is well equipped and breakfast is very good also for Europeans. Opposite the hotel there are some restaurants in a shopping mall.

I have stayed here twice for 4 day stays and each time was pleased with both the accommodations and service. The rooms are large and well appointed. Internet is good (be aware that Google is blocked in China but Bing is allowed). Breakfast is also good. The hotel is well located just off Century Avenue (main drag in Pudong) so...

I had the pleasure of staying 4 days in the hotel on 31st floor. The room showed a slight degree of usage as was the toilet furniture slowly getting "tired" and the hinged window not shutting fully. Traffic noise from below was noticeable. The staff was very friendly and helpful with ordering taxis and stuff. The breakfast buffet was comprehensive...

This is indeed a nice hotel but it is getting a bit dated. Some refurbishment will be needed even though it is clean and nicely maintained. Lounge facilities is also good but very limited selection for food during evening. Location was not the best for me but of course this depends if you enjoy staying on this side of the...

Everytime I travel to Shanghai I try to stay in this Hotel. it is simply perfect: rooms with good size, very clean and with a nice style. The last time I was here they gave me a room at the 41st floor....what a great view of the city. Inside the hotel there are many restaurant: Chinese, Thai, a kind of...

There is not really anything to complain on this hotel but also not really something to get overally excited. The room has a good size (and nice view as I stayed on the 41st floor). I am personally not a big fan of having the bathroom not fully seperated from the rest of the room, but that is a matter...
