We stayed here the night before we had to fly home because it was relatively close to the airport and after all the time we spent 'away from everything' it seemed like a good idea to stay in a downtown area. The hotel - when you first walk in is very cute, especially the breakfast area, however when we got...

Unique space with restaurants within walking distance. Highlight was the staff. We had a 8am flight, so a 6am Departure which is before breakfast. They lovely people at front desk arranged the taxi and made us sandwiches and fresh fruit for 4 people to take along in the morning. I would definitely stay again. Lovely common spaces and a nice...

We spent a night for bussiness, the hotel is located downtown Alajuela on a main road, super near the airport and malls, walking distance to parks and stores, it is an old house (1915) renovated into a hotel. I have to say it is unexpected to see great open common spaces with light and airy. Hand painted floors, high ceilings....

We loved our 2 stays at Hôtel 1915. The inside of the building is quite charming, the staff so friendly and helpful. The breakfast one of the best of my 5 month trip! Thank you to all the staff. We ll certainly stay again when we return to Costa Rica.

The lobby and exterior of the hotel was cozy. The lady greeting us also offered us tea or coffee upon arrival which was very nice. Note that the receptionist(s) were not very fluent in English and it was at times difficult to communicate with. The room itself was very dark and did not have a very secure feeling to it....

Stayed a week in this lovely place July 2016 for a mission trip with Give-A-Book. The exterior looks a little bit rough, but once inside, it's glorious! I can't speak to the price/value, because the charity negotiated the room price and we didn't pay directly. There was no a/c, but we didn't really need it. The evenings were cool enough....

A lovely hotel as described by other travelers and photos. My only complaint with this hotel is their lack of honesty around the price. Pay up front and pay in cash. First claimed credit card machine was not working, then charged me an additional 13% to pay with my card...ended up being a much more expensive night than had planned!

Every year our mission team spends our last night before going home here. The people are awesome, place is clean, breakfast is tasty, and did I mention how friendly the people are. Definite hidden treasure behind the beautiful doors.

Very charming little hotel in downtown Alajuela. Basics were provided at a reasonable price. Staff is friendly and helpful. Located in an nteresting neighborhood, pedestrian friendly, Close to the airport.

1915 Hotel was a nice surprise, the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in, so charming and clean and luxurious. Our room was on the second floor with a very nice large balcony/patio. The king bed was heavenly. The historic Spanish colonial style was comfortable. And very affordable. Very close to city centre. I would book again!
