Nice and clean, the breakfast is ok and the location is great and the price is fair... the only things that made me not give them 5 points is the lack of hot water and the wi-fi not reaching our room.

We needed a night close to the airport and this place was perfect! Greeted so nicely upon arrival and our room with shared bathroom was nice and clean, everything we needed and more. Location is so nice, walking distance to restaurants, markets and a beautiful park. The breakfast was just right...fresh bread, butter and jam...hot coffee and beautiful fresh fruit.... More

I was choose to stay in Alajuela then a night in San Jose yesterday , which was a great choice for itself. There is one area that have much of the hostels near the Plaza de Iglecia. I checked some of the places which were mostly dirty, unfriendly. Hostel Trotamundos is bigger, cleaner, public kitchen,Internet and hot showers. I was accommodated for... More

We got here pretty late at night and the owner checked us in. Right off the bat, there were a lot of communication issues because the owner does not speak any English. We were there for 2 nights and were originally in the front room on the second floor (shared bathroom). The other room had 3 guys in it and... More

Honestly, we loved the hostel because of the owner. He was very friendly & helpful. He was always there for us. He even gave us a ride to the airport at 4 in the moring. The room perfect for us. It was clean but I'd say it would need a little bit of decoration but thats just a tiny detail.... More

We stayed a night in a private room with bathroom for $25. The owner was really nice and very professional. He gave us good directions as to where we wanted to go. Very attentive to our well-being, he made sure we had breakfast before leaving for Poas despite running very late (we made it to the bus!). The room we... More

I stayed here on a Monday night and found it very peaceful and quiet. It's about a 7 min cab ride from the airport.I paid $10 for one of the dorms and the mattress was surprisingly very comfortable. One of the ladies who works there, Matilde, was super nice. She let me know the bus schedule to La Fortuna and... More

I am glad I found this peaceful, charming hostel in Alajuela. The man who ran it was very friendly and helpful. Excellent price for a private room with bathroom. A huge bonus was the free shuttle to the airport in the morning. I'll definitely go back there.

My wife and I had visited Costa Rica for about a week before going to the airport to find out a volcano had erupted effectively canceling all flights. To top it off, there were no more seats available on any flights until Friday. After sitting at the airport for hours getting drunk on Ron & Colas and feigning hope for... More
