We stayed one night twice within 10 days to start and end our trip and could not have asked for more. The bed are actually super comfy and the shower was one of the nicest we had during the trip. We arrived around 2am the first time and everything was prepared perfectly for a smooth late arrival. The ground of the hotel is very nice and lush. The pool is lovely and the service at the restaurant awesome. Some family stayed for a few nights but for us it was the perfect way to start and end the trip. We will be back.

We stayed here a night after arriving at the San Jose airport and a night before returning to the San Jose airport, We were so thankful for this place both times as driving in San Jose is a complete nightmare! This place is peaceful, clean, well appointed, with delicious food and kind staff. It is gated and feels very safe here as well.

We stayed one night at Villa San Ignacio upon arrival in Costa Rica. The room (14 on ground floor) was spacious and clean. The garden is very nice with beautiful colorful colors. Personnel at breakfast very accommodating. Food was freshly made and good quality. So, a very positive experience! I just felt a coffee maker was missing from the room. Being jet lagged I would have liked making myself a coffee before breakfast started (7 am)!

We arrived late, but there was a guard at the gate who was very helpful in spite of not speaking any English. He lead us to our room. Our room was HUGE and had everything we needed. Great water pressure in the shower. Lovely view both at night and in the morning! Grounds were stunning...beautiful flowers, bushes, birds. Pool looked great, but we didn't have a chance to use it. Breakfast was fantastic, and the coffee was outstanding. Very friendly morning staff. We were sorry to leave so soon.

The scenery of the hotel is beautiful. A large lush garden invites for relaxation and bird watching. The pool area, reception and restaurant are also very nice. It‘s a good start/end of Costa Rica trip. Breakfast and food served in the restaurant are ok. The rooms are not soundproofed. You hear the cars in the street. It‘s very busy from early morning (5:00 am), also you hear everything what your neighbor does (e.g. showering). This should be improved. The staff is very friendly.

We stayed 2 nights at the beginning and end of our Costa Rica adventure. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, meals were good. Be careful with the showers, there's enough water pressure to strip your skin. Traffic was noisy, could hear traffic from our room. Hotel is in Alajuela northwest of the airport and San Jose.; great for going North to Poas Volcano or La Fortuna.

This is a great little find in Alajuela. It's approximately a 20 minute taxi ride to the SJO airport, the main reason I picked this hotel. The other reason was for it's price for a family of 5. It's a nice quaint hotel with lots of personality. No TVs in our room but that was great. We bonded over a game of pool, we talked, we had dinner, ... we disconnected from technology. I actually loved it. We got there in the evening so we didn't have a chance to explore the grounds too much. I would like to thank Sergio for helping me acquire a taxi and the great communication leading up to the stay. It was a pleasure meeting him in person during breakfast the next morning. We had a great "Tico" breakfast (gallo pinto, eggs, fruit, etc) which was complimentary and then relaxed by the pool until check out. All the staff was exceptionally nice! I can only remember the names of Sergio and Angie. Someone on the staff that shared by last name but we aren't related :) Muchas gracias por todo!!! I know this has nothing to do with the hotel but the day we left, the weather was perfect! 80 degrees, low humidity and just gorgeous. Maybe something to look forward to in January.

We've been to Costa Rica twice now and we've eaten at Villa San Ignacio both times. We adore the restaurant here. They have excellent food, particularly the hummus which is outstanding. The patio is also just a lovely location to pass a bit of time in. We've never stayed on the property but maybe next time!
