We stayed on there on the first night of our trip and we were generously offered a DOUBLE upgrade! Our room was huge with an incredible view from the balcony. We woke up to a lovely sunrise. We ate at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, where they serve typical local food such as gallo pinto. The food is good......

After one night in San Jose we drove to Alajuela and stayed at Villa San Ignacio. The road was terrible (3 hours due to workd on the motorway), the hotel was not easy to find in the evening but ...once settled-in, it was great. The rooms were nice and clean and the breakfast terrace in the pool-area fabulous. From the...

Greetings! Thanks for such a positive review and labeling our place as great! We really appreciate your comment. It is better to fly directly to Alajuela airport (SJO) and head this way instead of driving through traffic to go to San José. That is precisely why we have a good location to visit Poás, La Paz, and other tour areas...

The hotel has two separate house on a rather large estate. The main building has a nice pool and an inviting bar where we also had our dinner. We had our room in the annex, it was a large room with sparse decoration and good beds. Right outside there is a lovely garden with an enormous ficus tree. Breakfast is...

We landed in San Jose late in the afternoon and decided it would be best to pick up rental car and stay somewhere close before hitting the road. We choose this hotel as it meant we could avoid San Jose as well it looks so charming and peaceful, in fact the word peaceful is used several times on their website....

The grounds are very large. I had a room up on top with a balcony looking towards the pool area. This afforded a nice view as well as a nice breeze. My room was large and clean but basic. The bathrooms lack hair dryers and a selection of toiletries but ar clean and modern. The air conditioner was great to...

Stayed here on final night of trip and would very highly recommend as an alternative to going in to San Jose ( even when the major roadworks are finished). The hotel organised pick up and return to the airport, which worked well. The room was lovely and the bed extremely comfortable, plus restaurant was good. Staff friendly and very helpful,...

You are very accurate in your description! It's better to stay close to the airport in Alajuela instead of driving thru traffic to go to San José. We are glad to hear the pick up was on time, the bed was comfortable and you had a great time with our staff at the bar & restaurant. Looking forward to having...

We stayed here one night. Checking in was a bit confusing. There are two buildings here, each with their own check in and parking. Our friend was booked in the lower building next to the restaurant and pool while we were in the upper building with a great view and a tree full of birds. Our room was big and...

This hotel was perfect for our group of 18 people. People came into SJO at different times and Xenia and Carla arranged for them to be picked up perfectly. Rooms were great, service was beyond impeccable, and the restaurant was excellent. The grounds and views were great for bird spotting and the hotel is a great and unique place to...
