The Xandari spa is quite nice, and the restaurant is good, but the hotel is overrated. There are a number of accounts about the extraordinary architecture and art. The architecture is noteworthy. Each room is designed in such a way that you can sit on the balcony and have privacy. Additionally, the bathroom is designed so that one wall is... More

Dear Delene…We are glad you appreciated our food, villas and spa...we are sorry you didn´t like the art and grounds since the owners placed their vision about Costa Rica in their art and architecture with so much love. There is so much to explore in the 40 acre-grounds, botanical trails, the serenity in the bamboo patches, the sound of the... More

We have stayed at this place about one half dozen times. The massive grounds are a thing of beauty with an array of flowers and trees that make realize what a paradise Costa Rica is. We were one of the first guests and have watched it grow and change in a positive way over the years. The rooms are spacious... More

My family recently (end of March) stayed at Xandari for two nights, once in between our stay in the central valley and heading to guanacaste and the day before our flight out. We actually were lamenting the fact that we didn't just enjoy our last few days there because it is very beautiful & peaceful. It really would make for... More

This resort has individual villas on 40 acres; the views of the valley from the rooms and the restaurant are outstanding. The restaurant has excellent food for a reasonable price. The property has trails where local plants and birds can be observed, and guided tours of the property are available.

We started and ended our recent visit to Costa Rica, at this beautiful resort. Food and service was excellent. The first night our room overlooked the valley below and it was one of the most beautiful sites I've ever seen. Fireworks could be seen in the distance, both nights, and the twinkling lights below were amazing. The room was awesome,... More

Xandari, what can I say, pure vida, from being greeted on arrival to being waved off when we left, it was pure magic. The funky colours and artwork, the huge rooms with big terraces, outstanding views over Alajuela. Gardens full of beautiful flowers and plants, perfect climate. Food excellent, many thanks to Diana and Alex who treated us like friends... More

This was our last stop in Costa Rica before heading home – we stayed here one night. Basic information: • The first door you enter is into is a private garden area and then there’s the door to your room. • Our room was a very large room with a king bed, a large sitting area with couch, chair and... We LOVED our villa (two nights), so spacious and the artwork and decor are wonderful, plus it had GREAT lighting (and this is a big deal and not often found in CR). To relax on the patio and look out at the lights of the city, well, morning or night, that was great. The restaurant has wonderful views and all... More

Short ride to/from airport. We stayed at Xandari on our way back to USA after a week in Costa Rica. We were met at the airport by the Xandari shuttle and a man holding a sign with our name on it.
