Hotel Alajuela is a good option for your transit night close to the San Jose SJO airport for the following reasons: 1) Cheap prices 2) Short 7-10 minute drive from the airport 3) Gated parking right beside @ fair price 4) In front of a cute park and walking distance from few basic restaurants and coffee shop As opposed to...

The location near the plaza central and a few blocks from the main bus stations were the main reason we picked this place. The room we had a balcony and ceiling fan. It was clean, the bathroom is clean (but a little worn out). There was also a TV and a fridge in the room. Staff were helpful at all...

We stayed at this hotel for a night before flying out of SJO in the morning. It is close to the airport, and about a 2000 colones taxi to SJO. The front desk staff was very helpful, friendly, and called a taxi for us early in the AM. The rooms were a bit old/worn but the beds were comfortable. The...

Hotel has good location in the centre of the city. Shops & restaurants near by. Inside rooms very quiet. Room is very clean, has big-screen TV, wifi & fridge. Annia at the front-desk is a lovely lady and tried everything to make my stay pleasant. Good stay before SJO-departure and a bus to airport is just a few blocks away...

We have stayed there twice and I wouldn't consider anywhere else. If you are looking for a first class hotel then be warned....this is not the place for you. If you want a safe place where you can walk around, low prices, and the best breakfast around then this is the place for you. We stayed here for 2-3 nights...

We stayed here in June for two nights before flying out of the San Jose airport. The location near the plaza central and a few blocks from the main bus stations were the main reason we picked this place. Since it was low season, we also got a double room for $35 a night. The room we got had a...

We stayed at the Hotel Alajuela, as a stopover, before catching a flight the next day. We stayed on the recommendation of a friend. He recommended it because Alajuela is near the airports, and it doesn't have as much of the riffraff one might find in San Jose. He also said that, "It is safe, clean, well run, a bit...
