This is my second time staying here at Vida Tropical and I have no complaints. Isabel is very friendly and helpful and even arranged our car rental for us. It was delivered right to the door the morning after we arrived and we made payment right on the spot there. We stayed again on our return trip home and we...

I was not expecting a hostel-like environment, but was pleasantly surprised by the location of Vida Tropical. It is within walking distance (4 blocks) of shopping and restaurants, which served us well since we arrived after-dark to an unfamiliar city. (Highly recommended is Jalapeños Central for Tex-Mex.) Our room was large - a queen bed plus a twin-over-double bunk for...

Just stayed an afternoon and evening prior to flying home. Staff on duty very helpful arranging early AM taxi and suggesting restaurants nearby. Easy walk a few blocks south to restaurant and shopping area. Room was clean and quiet. Nice big bathroom. Would return.

Only stayed one night after landing late in san jose. Was a bit hard to spot but local pointed us right way. Hotel owner was very friendly and helpful, showed us to locked private parking. Room was pretty basic but was fine for the night. Bed was comfy and clean which was all we needed after a long flight.Wi -...

Drenched clothes from earlier travels and an early arrival time yet housekeeper Sylvia was welcoming: offered the clothesline to dry clothing, a clean and comfortable last day in Costa Rica. Great referral to "the Jalapeno" a tasty local restaurante in town within walking distance. Slept well and ate the best breakfast of my Costa Rica trip while waiting for my...

The people here were terrific, helping us with a rental car and arrangements to coach the 5:00am flight in the morning. Isabel recommended a local Columbian restaurant in walking distance that had good food and was fun to visit. Some of the rooms are barely adequate and some are very nice, so let them know what you are interested in....

We received very helpful e-mail beforehand about how to reach the hotel. But we arrived late and decided to take a taxi and the driver had difficulties finding the place. I can't say much as we stayed only one night, arrived late and left early. The staff was helpful but spoke only spanish, breakfast good. Our room was downstair, next...

hi Xenonora I am surprised the driver had trouble finding us. we provide our guests, prior to arrival, very extensive directions in spanish and english, plus 3 telephone numbers the driver can use to call us if he is new in town and lost (and they ALL have cell phones). Unfortunately, some unscrupulous drivers act like they are lost to...

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Isabelle is so welcoming and helpful! She helped us organize a car rental, which was fabulous as there are many companies to choose from. Breakfast was good and the location was perfect for us. The only thing that stops me from rating this property excellent is that on their website they advertise...

thanks for the great review, we really appreciate it when guests take the time to send a little note, specially when it is positive. in this case, i just want to clarify that in our website we offer a safe for our guests, but we do not put anywhere that it is in the room, it is in the office,...

I stayed here on 3 occasions in between parts of our trip to Costa Rica. The manager, Isabel is so helpful and on one occasion, when we were leaving earlier than the normal breakfast time, she got up early just to make us some coffee and toast which we really appreciated. She also arranged a rental car to be dropped...
