Great rustic bungalow vibe! Met the new owner, Humberto and he was very receptive to suggestions in making updates in the near future . The grounds were beautiful and the location not too close to the town, so very peaceful. Marianna was quite helpful and attentive to our needs. Waking to the bird calls was lovely. Breakfast was served instead...

As we arrived they told us to pay for the rooms, although we were charged upfront. It was quite hard to communicate that we needed that money back, which finally worked out on the next day. The houses look very beautiful from the outside, but the inside was not as nice as the view probably promised. We found some ants...

It's completely up to you to have your own opinion, however, here is what happened to us. We originally booked our two nights at the Hotel Miradas Arenal which is further outside of town and owned by the same owner of this hotel. However, due to a "plumbing problem" we were told there was an issue with our room and...

Pros: clean and tidy rooms with lovely grounds. Wifi is fast. Air conditioning in room. Close enough to town (about one mile to la fortunate center). Coffee maker in room. Cons: wifi only works at the pool area (not in rooms), only a moderately comfortable bed, sliding door to our room (#8) appears to have been pried/broken into at some...

Hotel Oktara is basic yet functional. Rooms are dated in appearance but the AC works well and ceiling fan will keep room comfortable (and clothes dry). The gardens are well tended and there are partial views of the volcano. The main part of the town is a fair walk (20 - 25 min) but there are some good restaurants, a...

Don't be surprised that most locals never heard of this hotel since they know it by its old name Hotel Rey. We enjoy its landscape but in the morning, be ready to get waken up by different kinds of birds (which I enjoy actually) and even cocks in the next door farm! There's no free breakfast included when we booked...

The room was spacious and clean, grounds were beautiful and private. No complaints and I'd definitely stay there again. Wifi wasn't available in the rooms but it was available poolside and in the restaurant. Staff was super friendly.

We stayed here with four girls sharing a room and it was perfectly adequate for what we needed. The bungalow was big enough and the beds comfortable. Shower was also hot and powerful. It was also well located for everything you need with a fantastic view of the volcano. The restaurant has complimentary breakfast which is substantial - however the...
