This place is absolutely unique in the rain forest of Costa Rica. The grounds are beautiful and the nature is magical. It feels like you are back country but at the same time it is comfortable enough to have a wonderful time as a family with kids. There are animals, plants, waterfalls and so much more. What makes it even better is William who was our host. He dis absolutely everything for us. He reached out the moment we made the reservation, made sure we arrived safely even though we had delays, helped us plan every day, welcomed us as a family. The tour of the property is outstanding! A must do! Gracias William y team!
We spent amazing time in Princesa de la Luna with my girlfriend. Jonathan & William are super friendly & helpful. The Ecolodge is so close to the nature & you can see a variety of wildlife while eating breakfast. It offers few hiking trails down the hill to the small river at the bottom of the canyon which is also great & gives you even more chance to spot animals (toucans, sloth, many others). We travelled in Costa Rica for over 2 weeks and have not experienced anything like this again during our trip. A truly beatiful place and one we hope to see again! ❤️
This property is located away from the hustle-bustle, tourist crowds of town. Beautifully nestled into the slope of the rain forest. Room 6 has a great view of the volcano, the rain forest, and 3 incredibly colorful Toucans visited our windowsill each morning. The rooms and the entire experience is more rustic than luxury (which we enjoyed) - we were perfectly comfortable. The staff and the service is great. William is a gracious and knowledgeable host. He sent us to a fantastic restaurant for lunch. We ate breakfasts and dinners at the lodge and the food is delicious. Wine, beer, etc is not sold, but you are welcome to bring your own. Looking forward to coming back here on our next visit!
I mostly want to do precision on this hotel and give up to date information. The place is nice, but know that it is build on steap slope in the forest. Know that the beautiful pool on the pictures is empty, the jacuzzi also empty and the other pool in not very clean. They are also a way down the mountain so for our children that would not have been great. It is very rustic, I don’t know about other cabin but our (the one close to the entrance with kitchen) was preatty old, matress need to be chance, micro ants live under ceramic in the kitchen and they get everywhere. All our food were in plastic bag and they manage to find a way…..even in the door fridge…inside the fridge. The food they cook was very good. We decided to shorten our stay du to the place that was not as promise and not as expected and Jonathan was very nice to us and make seem like he really understand our decision. I’m preatty sure the cabin close to the kitchen are better, the little hike to the watefall was nice but in dry season the pool are small. We like our night there, but could not stay 5 nights with small kids and our parents.…
This place has beautiful views of the jungle and volcano, and is immersed in nature. The rooms are comfortable and clean, this is the perfect place to relax. The property has trails leading to a waterfall, a natural pool, and a manmade pool. You can watch toucans and butterflies! It is a short drive from the town. The host and staff are all very friendly and accimodating. I will definitely visit again!
My friend and I stayed at La Princesa for 4 days. The rooms and comfortable and clean. The property is absolutely gorgeous with trails to explore a nearby waterfall, pools, and gorgeous flora and fuana. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. It was easy to get to Arenal national park and the town of La Fortuna by car. I would absolutely stay and relax here again.
Outside la Fortuna is a beauty in wonderful rainforest garden. My wife and me liked especially the Pool in the quiet rainforest Environment. We made the tour with Frank to the waterfall and had a funny bath with clay and water. William Frank are very helpful in every situation . The place is truly a Princessa.
It was our first trip to Costa Rica and we could not have hoped for a warmer welcome or a lovelier place to stay. We spent 4 nights in the Casa de Brian which is a wooden house 300m uphill from the main property. It was large for our family of 2 adults and 2 teens (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a huge kitchen) with a charming terrace from which we observed colourful birds of all kinds. The hammock was a fave spot to chill in between activities. We thoroughly enjoyed the tropical tour on our first morning which allowed us to discover the surroundings and learn much about local flora and fauna. We enjoying swimming in the waterfall, the mud bath and the company of the property’s dogs. The food was delicious and always served with a smile. Special shout out to William who went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. He helped us organise anything we needed and even drove us back to San Juan for our flight. Please do not hesitate to book here, you will feel right at home.…
We stayed at Princesa as a family traveling to the area. We stayed in a larger lodge as there are five of us. Accommodations are humble but clean. It is an ecolodge after all. Adequate Wi-Fi. The location was out of this world beautiful. The grounds are dense foliage with fruit flowers birds everywhere. They offer a tour/ hike f the property to a lovely waterfall. William is very knowledgeable of all the plants and trees and animals that live in the area. They even found frogs and lizards to show us. Toucans came for breakfast every morning. The food they repaired was always delicious and pineapple. They were very helpful in recommending local excursions and helping us set up reservations. We would not hesitate to return here. We really felt like family with them with our hosts.
The lodge itself is a large lush property with a dozen of cabins spread out literally in the rain forest including a hiking trail to spot wildlife and a waterfall. Accommodations are simple but provide all you need from clean linens, a private bathroom, kitchen and fridge. Freshly prepared local breakfast is available in the morning. Access is through a steep gravel road 10 min south of La Fortuna center. William is a wonderful host, very attentive and accommodating, ready to answer any question, assist in planning your activities. Staff was also super friendly!
