There are so many good things to share about my stay here I don't know where to start! The hostel is centrally located downtown. It is a two minute walk from the bus station. Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly engaging staff and a well manicured courtyard. The courtyard has around a dozen hammocks, some tables on green... More

My sister and I visited the Arenal Hostel Resort in La Fortuna for 3 nights at the end of February 2015. It was right downtown beside a park with a fountain and an incredible view of the volcano! The staff were super friendly upon our arrival (giving us a free drink ticket!) and the dorm rooms are clean with big... More

I stayed in the 10 bed girls dorm for $16 a night. It was good but no lockers or windows and only had electrical outlets in the bathroom. Nice pool and hammocks and a small kitchen. Good atmosphere and the staff were so nice. I would recomend staying here.

Lots of adventurous stuff to do in La Fortuna, and this hostel was great to come back to. The small pool is fun and refreshing. The hammocks are awesome too. Tons of great cafes, stores and restaurants nearby too. Very much preferable to the gated resort hotels closer to the Arenal Volcano.

It's a hostel with comfortable bunk beds, clean washrooms, and a swim up pool bar! I am sitting here right now and count 6 hamacas and the sound of waterfalls cover the street noise so you really feel like you are in an oasis. Bring your own beer of you like or avail yourself of their generous cervezas and cocktail... More

I couldn't work up enthusiasm for the concept of a "hostel resort" during the three nights we spent there. Yes, the place looks very nice with lots of hammacks and a pool with a small waterfall but there were so many negative aspects under the surface that I would not recommend to stay there. Our 8-bed dorm didn't leave space... More

I want to warn everyone about this hostel which cheated us by booking of the costs from our credit card 3 times. They did it by telling us the credit card didn't work why we did the payment several times on arrival. When contacting them to ask for a refund about this error, we got a very late answer just... My boyfriend and I stayed two nights. Perfect location in La Fortuna. Across from the church near cafes and bistros. Close to hot springs. Eat breakfast here. Melissa makes the best! Great deal compared to restaurants. Also My Coffee down the street makes great Huevos Rancheros. Bring your towels and soap. The hostel does not provide. Bathrooms are bug and... More

The location is great, and yes, when you walk in, the surroundings are lovely. The rooms look very nice- all wood, and since I was on the second floor, there was a vaulted ceiling. But the noise! The rooms are situated around a courtyard, with a bar at one end. So if there's not a party going on in the... More
