Lomas del Volcan is an interesting opportunity in the Arenal region. The grounds are immaculate and gorgeous and the volcano looms in the background providing picturesque backdrop to any photographers. The cabins are semi-rustic, but they do have AC...which is nice. The staff is friendly and helpful with good recommendations of restaurants and other destinations in La Fortuna and the...

This facility was beautiful and had an amazing view of the volcano when the clouds cleared away. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and most spoke English. The location was nice because it felt peacefully secluded, but still very close to the town (La Fortuna). I was really glad we rented a car, though, because it's about a 40 minute walk...

This was my first trip to Costa Rica. After the flight, I was in the car for 3.5 hours so by the time I arrived at the hotel I was very tired. I was greeted with a very warm smile by a gentleman named Roberto who informed me that he had a surprise for me. After a quick check in...

This resort consists of many cottages, all rustic but very comfortable surrounded by beautiful grounds. The first thing I did when we arrived was take a picture of the majestic volcano which looks as if it's just around the corner (it isn't). I was fortunate as it clouded over quickly and others in our group were not able to get...

All staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel has its own taxi service which makes getting to local attractions very quick and easy (same price as the other local taxis available in our experience). Buffet breakfast and fresh omelette station were very good, as was the a la carte menu on the one evening we ate at the hotel. Rooms...

Beautifully appointed, very private bungalows that felt very luxurious. Beds were comfortable, air conditioning worked well and it was always very clean. Views of Arenal Volcano from everywhere on the property are stunning. We took several hikes on trails just outside hotel area, which was fun. Grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The pool is beautiful. Enjoyed massage under the waterfall, then...

Got here yesterday 11/3 and it has only been one day. This place has a great location! It is tucked away right by the base of the arenal volcano. Perfect for tourists seeing the area. You can rent a car and drive here or get a shuttle. If you have booked tours, they pick you up at the hotel. We...

We stayed in a bungalow at the Hotel Lomas del Volcan for three nights. Too short. One could easily spend ones whole holiday there.Looks like one is at the foot of the Arenal volcano. Lovely, clean big bedroom and a huge bathroom. Staff very friendly and extremely helpful. Gardens and pool are stunning and full of birds that one can...

The sign by the highway, and the road leading into the hotel gives one the impression that ones choice to stay at this hotel may have been a mistake. But once at the hotel itself, and the warm greeting from the professional staff person at the desk and you start to think, yes this place is good. Then you go...

Dear Elliot S. You are right when you mention: this is not Hawaii or Florida, for sure we are far apart from those places and quite different, we are a unique paradise and you have a proof of it. We thank you for your comments and for selecting our mountain lodge to spend part of your vacation days in Costa...

The single cabanas were private and beautiful! The spectacular view of the volcano took our breath away. The staff was helpful and courtesy. The facility was kept immaculately and the wildlife was amazing!
