The scenery is beautiful at the hotel. Landscape is very pretty. The breakfast was really good and dining area is so pretty with beautiful birds in the near by trees. Each bungalow has a nice porch to relax. The personnel where awesome. My husband left a envelope with our vacation money under the mattress. We left the Arenal inn hotel to our next destination area approximately 3 hours away. We called the Arenal Inn and they found the envelope and made arrangements for a car courier service to bring it to our new hotel. What Honesty & service they provided to us.
Lovely individual bungalows which are staggered giving lovely views and also a little outdoor seating area for each house. Spacious accommodation with large windows. There is also a viewpoint at the rear of the property. Good food, only had breakfast there but plenty of choice. Also a swimming pool and sunbathing area.
I stayed here for four nights with my husband and two young children. The standard of cleanliness was exceptionally high, and this was one of the cleanest (if not the cleanest) place I stayed during our one month Costa Rica trip. The bathroom was very spacious, and offered plumbed-in hot water (which can still be uncommon in some parts of Costa Rica). There was ample space for all our items. We had a small kitchenette with coffee-making facilities (no kettle - kettles not as common in hotel rooms as they are in Australia), as well as a small bar refrigerator. The under-bench space was extremely useful for luggage storage. Even though I have called it a kitchenette, there is actually no cutlery or cooking facilities. It is more of an alcove with some basic facilities. That is why the hotel does not advertise it as a kitchenette as such. We had two queen beds with very nice linen. We were a bit cold with the air con on, and a bit hot with it off - another blanket would have solved the problem, but maybe we just never fully figured out the air con. At least it had an air con! Clothes storage was a little tricky for four people, and I chose to store our kids’ clothes in the “kitchenette”. The wardrobe could definitely use a light, as it is pitch black inside, and I had to use my phone torch to see the clothes x A real highlight of the rooms are the amazingly big windows, that are kept immaculately clean. These enable stunning views of Arenal Volcano (when the clouds subside), as well as views of the stunning gardens. The pool, cold spa and warm spa were very clean and extremely pleasant, with sun beds and shady areas too. The breakfast was lovely, although it is the same thing every day. It has a really slow toaster and only two types of cereal, if you’re into cereal, and one of those is Fruit Loops. I really enjoyed the galló pinto and scrambled eggs with coffee. We could view the Volcano (clouds permitting) from the restaurant, the doors of which were always open when we were there. This enabled us to see many beautiful birds including flycatchers and hawks. This hotel is single storey and every villa is separated, allowing for very little noise transmission. This hotel is about 6-7 km from central La Fortuna, or about a 5 minute cab ride. Cabs take from 5 to 20 minutes to arrive and are the typical red, certified, Costa Rican cabs. Vans and large cars are available for groups over 4, without any trouble. You may also rent a car, and there are many rental car agencies is downtown La Fortuna. Parking is sparse, and the traffic conditions vary substantially from those normally encountered in Australia, which is why we used taxis. Many things including tours and the ponchos, could only be paid for in cash at reception. They accept card for the accommodation fee itself. As always, cash is very inconvenient to me. Please note the taxis also require cash. I highly recommend this accommodation for families. The restaurant was also good for lunch and dinner.…
We stayed here for a few night’s as part of a multi-location visit to Costa Rica. The hotel comprises several bungalow-type lodges that reminded us of something out of the 1970’s; but their rustic and quaint charm is what we loved so much! The whole place was so quiet and serene - we used the pool most days and weren’t disturbed at all. We ate at the restaurant and loved the pizzas - great value for money (the large did the two of us!). The rest of the menu isn’t that big but all the choices we tried were nice. All prices were as you’d expect for a hotel and similar to other places we tried while in the country. The rooms were spacious but basic; beds are quite short so my husband struggled a bit to make sure his legs were covered! Recommend if you’re looking for something that’s cute and quiet…
Good views of the volcano from the property. Best chance to see it clear of the clouds is in the morning. We also saw a sloth on a tree in the property. Decent breakfast. It is a little far away from town - so if you don't have your own car, you would need to call a cab if you did not want to eat at their restaurant. WiFi connection was very weak, but was somewhat better in the reception/restaurant area.
The view from our cabin was amazing.Looked right at the volcano.Got the best views early mornings. The grounds were beautiful.Lots of tropical flowers. If you like nature, this place had it all.birds, monkeys and other sounds of nature .
Very nice hotel. Conveniently located to all the activities in arenal/la fortuna. Great breakfast everyday. Staff were very friendly and helpful! Ericka was extremely helpful with booking activities for us, and even arranging for our forgotten passports to be safely delivered to our next destination! Highly recommend this hotel!
Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was perfect. Nice view on the volcano but always cloudy during our stay. Staff was friendly, especially in the restaurant. Pool and hot tub were very nice. Only negative: limited wifi in the room.
The hotel has great bungalows with great views on the volcano. Breakfast was fine, the breakfast room has a great view on the volcano too. It seems that a lot of hotels around the area have hot spring pools which is a shame not to have one. The pool itself was nice though.
you can clearly see the volcano from almost anywhere in the hotel. They offer cute little rooms that are clean. We went a family with a 10 yr old and thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The guest services are very friendly. The restaurant is a nice convenience and the breakfast thats included which was amazing! We will definitely stay again when we are in the area. Very close to hot springs, restaurants and Mistico hanging bridges, horseback riding, etc.
