The rooms have an amazing view of the Arenal volcano. We arrived in torrential rain and the staff was very helpful. The front office helped us a lot during our stay with plans and information. Good job.
Conveniently located this hotel is a good option if what you need is a comfortable and quiet place to rest after exploring La Fortuna. It does have a good size pool with a kid's recreation area and a restaurant. Breakfast was ok... The cabin we booked had all the amenities we needed and it was clean and cozy. There's also a souvenir store on the premises. It's the biggest and nicest souvenir store I've seen in La Fortuna.
Located in an ultra-tourist area and a short walk to a dozen or so tourist restaurants, this lodging has its place for certain visitors. The WIFI was mostly inoperative during my visit. It could only be used by the window in my room and then only at super off hours like 3am when nobody else was trying to use it. The walls are un-insulated slats of wood next to each other leaving gaps. The roof is metal, so rain is very loud and insects and light come through cracks in the walls. The bathroom had four full sized towels no hand towels no face towels. No bath soap. Yes shampoo and conditioner and hand soap. Beds were OK but it was very difficult to manage the temperature in the room and the bedding was thin. The air conditioner worked but obviously blew a lot of energy through the wall cracks. The safe was broken. I will not be returning but I can see maybe a rustic camper liking the place.…
If you are planning on staying in La Fortuna and want a quiet place to stay with great views of the volcano, unless it's raining of course, this is the place to stay. I've stayed here a few times and have never been disappointed. This time it rained off and on for all four days that we have been here, never did see the volcano Arenal.
Enjoyed my stay here, had a great view of the volcano. Very clean rooms and the hot tub/pool was a nice bonus. Breakfast is so-so, but included. Need a taxi to get into center of town, but there are a lot of restaurants nearby if you want to walk for food.
We stayed for one night while on a tour. We had a beautiful view of the volcano and I enjoyed seeing the cows nearby. The hotel is close to many places of interest and sits right next to a sizable souvenir shop. The breakfast only had two options and was just okay. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.
Stayed in low season (august) when it was very quiet. No restaurant or bar which meant we had to walk to get food every meal (fine except when the rain was torrential!). The included breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Kids loved the swimming pools and watching the lines of busy leaf-cutter ants in the far garden. Balcony on the front of our cabin was a great bonus so we could sit and watch wildlife any time of day, and had the most amazing view of the volcano. If you want to spot butterflies go to Angelina Garden just 10 minutes walk down the road - free entry and we spent a good few hours happily wandering around. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
This was a wonderful hotel with extremely friendly staff. The rooms were extremely clean and hotel is within walking or driving distance to many restaurants. Also the large gift shop out front made buying souvenirs very easy since we had such a busy schedule. The staff was so kind- breakfast starts at 7 but we had a tour leaving at 7. They offered to have our breakfast ready at 6:30. When we went to pick it up that morning, it was all packaged up and ready for us.
We enjoyed our three day visit to La Pradera. Room was spacious, comfortable beds, really good breakfast. Too bad the restaurant isn’t open for lunch or dinner. The hotel is on the edge of town, quiet, nice balcony, good view of the Arenal mountain and volcano (when it’s not raining or foggy.) The pool and hot tubs are great! Amazing gift shop! The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. They arranged an amazing ATV Tour for us one day plus a Coffee & Chocolate Tour the next morning plus a rainy Hiking Tour of the Arenal Volcano (not the staff’s fault that it was raining) which was followed by an incredible buffet dinner and two hours in the hot tubs at Baldi Hot Springs.
We stayed at this hotel because it was in our budget and overall it was good. The rooms were really spacious and had nice little gardens in front of them. There didn't seem to be many other people there, and the bar and restaurant were non-operational except for breakfast. It was on a main road and about a 15-minute walk to the town center, however the we tried the walk and turned back because it seemed pretty dangerous. I would recommend this as a good budget-friendly hotel! There was also an incredible view of the volcano.
