We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our 10 night trip around Costa Rica. I wish we could have stayed here longer! We were greeted by the most warm and welcoming hosts, Mark and Lucy. Mark was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great tips on getting around. Now the tree house....what can I say...?...

We returned to the Tree Houses for a second visit, having been there previously in 2012, and loved it every bit as much. Mark and Lucy continue to provide the same great service and it is so relaxing to be up in the trees in the privacy of your own comfortable tree house watching the birds and animals. We especially...

Staying at the tree houses was awesome! It's close to La Fortuna and the Arenal Volcano. The tree houses themselves are breath taking - private tree houses in the jungle with fresh coffee delivered every morning so you can watch the birds as you take in everything around you. Mark and Lucy are exceptional hosts! They gave us information about...

We really enjoyed our three nights. Initially I was surprised at how far it was from the La Fortuna area activities (about 30-40 minutes), but in the end was actually happy to be away from it all to disconnect away from the tourist throngs. We ended up spending one of our days just hanging out on the property--hiking to the...

My husband and I stayed at the Tree House Hotel from 12/22-12/29. The accomodations are enchanting. You are perched high above the ground in lovely tree houses. There is a fully functioning bathroom, small refridgerator and an air conditioner. Mark and Lucy are FANTASTIC! Mark is an incredible concierge - helping you to organize your day, excursions, offer restaurant suggestions,...

Prior to arriving in C.R. correspondence was done with Mark & Yiandra, both of whom were very knowledgable & helpful about the area, the tours, bookings etc. Our trip to Costa Rica was delayed overnight due to volcanic ash in the air. We had to rearrange our private driver pick up time. Yiandra was very helpful in getting hold of...

My wife & I returned to stay in the Frog Tree House at the Tree House Hotel over the holiday season for the third time recently and it never disappoints. The tree house, wildlife, nature trail, delicious breakfast and the great staff make this location one of our favourite places to visit in Costa Rica. Mark, Lucy, Yiandra and the...

What should have been a great trip turned into an utter disaster. A volcano erupted causing our trip to be cancelled which is obviously not the hotel's fault however I was able to attain a refund on every service we purchased in the entire country but THIS hotel. I understand their cancellation policy however this was a natural occurrence out...

I understand this gentlemans frustrations but we did everything we could to accommodate this customer. Their reservation was for November 10th, 11th and 12th. (Not December). We received a short email on November 10th from Alex saying the flight was cancelled due to the ash from the volcano. Next email was they were rescheduled for the 11th at 8am. Yiandra...

Our family of 4 had an amazing visit to Costa Rica and spent four nights at the Tree Houses Hotel! Because of availability we spent 2 nights in the Toucan and 2 nights in the Agouti. The Toucan was the smaller of the two, with a full bed and a loft with 2 smaller beds. The beds in the loft...

Our family of four, 16 yr old daughter and 13 yr old son, stayed in the Monkey tree house for the first 2 days in Costa Rica and it was AMAZING!! Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tree Houses Hotel is a bed and breakfast hotel conveniently located off the main road that runs through La Fortuna and around the Arenal Volcano. We are a short 25 minute drive to the high tourist area. People seek us out with that in mind, to be away from it all but close enough to enjoy all the fun adventure the La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area has to offer. We have just 5 tree houses (each very private) on 8 acres and we are surrounded by a 70 acre wildlife refuge with a waterfall, pools to swim and a beautiful river. Each tree house features A/C, warm water showers, refrigerators and safes. There are few hotels like this in the world and none other in Costa Rica. There is something so very exciting about spending the night high in the forest canopy, wildlife all around you, safe and cozy in a tree house hotel in Costa Rica. ... more   less
