As you arrive at reception you are greeted by hummingbirds, and a really friendly dog. We stayed in the Sloth Treehouse, I loved the fact you can walk all the way round and sit on the porch watching the forest. We loved the trails and especially the moment we so the sloth, (helped by the staff) The sounds of the wildlife...

This was a great part of our trip. The guided night tour was great. We saw lots of wildlife we never would have seen if we tried to do it on our own. The breakfasts were all delicious...cooked right at the Rancho and lots of variety (something new each of the 3 mornings we were there). The hostess that was...

My boyfriend and I recently stayed here for 2nights and can't say a bad word about the Property. From the first moment we contacted Mark and Lucy they were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. They put us in contact with a reliable car rental company, gave us basic 'must knows' before visiting CR and had our booking completed within a...

The Tree Houses are THE most amazing places on earth! You can hear the howler monkeys and see toucans right outside your treehouse. We were in the "Hummingbird" aka "Colibri" and couldn't have asked for better accommodations. The indoor/outdoor shower was magnificent, my son loved the bunk bed, the grounds were beautiful. What makes the Tree House stand out is...

We are so happy that you had such a great time with us, Catherine! We have selected the tour operators that we work with and they are the best around. Our staff loved your review and we only wish that we (Mark and Lucy) had been around to meet you this time. We are looking forward to your return in...

Booked our holiday and changed our itinerary based on the understanding we had a 2 day reservation confirmed. When we reconnected they stated they gave the days to someone that wanted all 4 available days. We ended up without what we thought was going to be a memorable part of our holidays in Costa Rica. Careful when booking as they...

Tree Houses is truly sorry for Terry and Scotts disappointment. As soon as we saw this review we went back and read through the emails we had with them to see if we did indeed make a mistake. The last email we sent to them(before booking the dates with the other guest) was our reservation staff asking for payment information...

This was the coolest place I've ever stayed, and I will go back next trip and stay longer. There is so much to do at the property, and the owner happened to be there to visit with my family. We stayed in the frog tree house, and it fit us perfectly. Just sitting out on the balcony at night we...

My honey and I stayed in the Toucan for three nights during our visit in early September. They call if the rainy season but we had hardly any rain at all. Incredible place to stay and amazing hospitality! From the room to the breakfast, I can't say enough about how awesome this place is. If you are going to be in the La Fortuna/San Carlos area, I highly recommend that you stay at the Tree Houses! You will not be disappointed.

September we stayed 2 nights in the Hummingbird Tree House. Air Conditioning was great . did not really see any animals. The only thing is the houses are waay to close to the road.. If you're looking for luxury accommodations with every modern convenience and amenities, go elsewhere. That is not what Mark and Lucy provide. If you're looking to revisit your inner child, sleep in a treehouse, listen to birds chirping, and being in the rainforest for a few days instead of just visiting it and leaving, you found the place. Please like...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tree Houses Hotel is a bed and breakfast hotel conveniently located off the main road that runs through La Fortuna and around the Arenal Volcano. We are a short 25 minute drive to the high tourist area. People seek us out with that in mind, to be away from it all but close enough to enjoy all the fun adventure the La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area has to offer. We have just 5 tree houses (each very private) on 8 acres and we are surrounded by a 70 acre wildlife refuge with a waterfall, pools to swim and a beautiful river. Each tree house features A/C, warm water showers, refrigerators and safes. There are few hotels like this in the world and none other in Costa Rica. There is something so very exciting about spending the night high in the forest canopy, wildlife all around you, safe and cozy in a tree house hotel in Costa Rica. ... more   less
