Spent three nights with family at Tree Houses Hotel. Stayed in the Frog tree house which was very comfortable and which had a nice balcony that we spent early morning and evening sitting out on listening to nature. Coffee was delivered early morning to the house...... a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent and a good opportunity to plan the day's...

Mark and Lucy are amazing hosts! This was by far the best part of our trip in Costa Rica. We decided to do this at the end our trip and only spent a night here. What a bad decision...We should have stayed here for the entire week! It is about a 20-25 min drive from Baldi hot springs. The breakfast...

My husband and I spent the last few days of our honeymoon here. This was, by far, the highlight of our trip! We felt like the tree houses were very luxurious -hot showers, air conditioning, small kitchen area, etc. Mark and Lucy were great, very kind and hospitable! We took a one day trip to Rio Celeste, I would highly...

Mark and Lucy were such wonderful hosts during our two night stay. The tree houses are such fun to stay in. They are incredibly well constructed and spacious. Lucy and her staff served very delicious breakfasts. The property has a great walking trail and is in a beautiful setting. The property is about a twenty minute car ride from the...

What an amazing place. We (hubby, myself, & our 2 kids -ages 15 &11) had the privilege of calling Sloth our "home" for two nights! As you enter the property you are are greeted by rainforest on both sides of the road up to reception, then you see all the hummingbirds! Lots and lots of hummingbirds! Sloth tree house has...

We had an absolutely amazing time in our Sloth Treehouse! For three days, we hiked around the property (day and night), went swimming in the pool at the waterfall, saw the coolest frogs, birds and other animals, ate the best breakfasts ever (YUM!) and lived with a troop of howler monkeys outside our window (literally…outside our window) :) Early one...

We stayed in the tree houses in June of 2013 and I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. We stayed in the toucan tree house, which had 2 beds in the loft, and a queen bed on the main floor. The tree house was clean and comfortable, and the coffee waiting for us on the balcony each morning...

Staying in a treehouse in Costa Rica just seemed too perfect an opportunity to pass up. And we loved it! You can't have too many expectations -- they are treehouses after all, complete with bugs and not much living space. And we were disappointed that our house was so close to the road so we heard a lot of traffic....

Imagine this....you wake up to the sounds of the rainforest all around you, sipping fresh coffee out of the thermos that was delivered to your outdoor deck, as you watch the thick canopy come alive around you - the day begins. Then, down to a wonderful breakfast with fresh local fruit just short walk away amongst the flowers and hummingbirds....

All the good reviews are true. This was the best "hotel" experience I ever had. Due to availability we were only able to book for one night but we made the most of it. Mark and Lucy were most helpful before the trip and during. They arranged 2 tours for us and were the nicest. Stayed in Yiguirro. It was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tree Houses Hotel is a bed and breakfast hotel conveniently located off the main road that runs through La Fortuna and around the Arenal Volcano. We are a short 25 minute drive to the high tourist area. People seek us out with that in mind, to be away from it all but close enough to enjoy all the fun adventure the La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area has to offer. We have just 5 tree houses (each very private) on 8 acres and we are surrounded by a 70 acre wildlife refuge with a waterfall, pools to swim and a beautiful river. Each tree house features A/C, warm water showers, refrigerators and safes. There are few hotels like this in the world and none other in Costa Rica. There is something so very exciting about spending the night high in the forest canopy, wildlife all around you, safe and cozy in a tree house hotel in Costa Rica. ... more   less
