Best place I have ever stayed! We loved our experience there. Kind and helpful staff. The eco farm was amazing. The hot water pools were the perfect way to start and end a day. I would never stay anywhere else in Fortuna.
We spent 5 nights here and didn't want to leave. We had a family bungalow with 2 queen beds and a twin bed. There was plenty of room even with 3 beds. The bathroom was huge. Lovely little front patio with table and chairs. The restaurant is fairly small so we were asked to reserve a breakfast time, but I think they were pretty flexible about that, and just didn't want everyone showing up at the same time. Breakfast was really good, ordered from a menu. We had dinner one night at the restaurant and were happily surprised at just how good their pizza was. Staff was all really friendly. The grounds are really nice, with paved paths throughout, and to the back of the property where the hot springs pools are. I think there are 6 or 7, gorgeous little pools, and one big one, all surrounded by big rocks and lush vegetation. The hot springs pools are way nicer than I expected. It was so nice to wander back there in the evening and lounge in the pools. It was quiet, and never more than a few other people around. The bungalows are nice on their own, but the hot springs pools earn it extra points. Off to the side at the back of the property is a little farm, and guests are welcome to wander around and visit the animals. That was a lot more fun than I expected. :) They have all kinds of birds, donkeys, sheep, miniature horses, etc. While we were staying there we often saw a peccary on the hotel grounds. I thought it was a pig from the farm at first. :) Also saw some iguanas lounging in the trees. Would definitely stay there again.…
Very charming set-up - the villas were cozy and nicely appointed. The series of hot spring pools provided nice privacy and the adjacent property farm provided fun with looks at the animals and a roving pig. The food and selection at the restaurant were appealing for my wife and me who are foodie-types. The young man at check-in was attentive and remembered us and our villa number. We would highly recommend this hotel - was not far from the Sky Adventures location and the Arenal Observatory Lodge.
We loved this hotel! It was a true gem in La Fortuna. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly. Food was outstanding at the bar and restaurant. We all loved being able to see the farm, animals and beautiful garden. Overall the property was wonderful and would love to come back!
Travelling with two teens ages 13 and 16. Check in was smooth, yummy welcome drinks. Rooms are basic, 2 queens a small bathroom and 1 sink. A bit tight for a family of four. The front door does not shut unless locked which was a bit annoying. The grounds are beautiful, full on view of the volcano. Hot spring pools are lovely, really hot! 1 large pool and 3 smaller pools. On site there was a farm where the kids could help collect eggs and milk the cows in the morning-we saw a lot of young families really enjoy this. Lots and lots of mosquitoes in the evening so bring good bug spray. The hotel does provide a mosquito creme in the room which was a nice touch. We had breakfast included which was a small menu - basically 5 things. Very basic but sufficient. I would recommend this hotel for families with smaller children (under 10) who can enjoy a smaller resort setting + the farm animals etc. …
I called Hotel El Silencio del Campo over 6 months early to book a room for my daughter and I. On September 7th, 2022, I spoke to Kianny and she confirmed my reservation. I called to verify my reservation on March 15, 2023 before my travel on March 24th. I spoke to Eliomar and he committed to looking into the reservation and calling me back. Eliomar texted through Whatsapp 3 hours later and said he didn't have a record of my reservation. Instead of the room I booked at $190/night, Hotel El Silencio del Campo offered me a 3 bedroom for $358/night for two nights and the original room for $268/night. Needless to say, I asked Eliomar to honor the original reservation Kianny made, but he declined. This is the worst customer service I have seen in Costa Rica. I would not recommend this hotel, based purely on lack of organization and poor customer service.…
We simply loved this "cozy" hotel. Starting from the check-in process, welcome drinks, friendly and attentive people who work there (Hello, Elios!) - we would love to come back to Hotel El Silencio del Campo! We still remember the lush greenery and beautiful scenery, the farm and the animals, the relaxing spa, hot springs, and pool. It was an easy drive to/from the town and we felt very safe. The complimentary breakfast and dinners we had were all delicious as well. They also helped us with excursions like zipline at Ecoglide. The only thing I would change is maybe they can add more hooks to hang clothes/wet swim suits in the bathroom. Otherwise, this hotel is such a perfect getaway in Arenal/La Fortuna -- we stayed with our kids who are 6 and 4 years old and they still talk about milking the cow, gathering eggs, the birds in the morning, seeing the peccary sniff around, the fishes in the restaurant, the fragrant ylang-ylang tree. It was very memorable.…
Our family of four very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Silencio del Campo. The location was very convenient to activities, including a coffee and chocolate tour, ziplining, and day trips to caves. The individual cabins were very nicely appointed, and we loved the morning breakfasts while watching the birds at the feeders. What really sets this property apart though, are the farm and the spa. My two kids (6 and 8) and I had so much fun visiting the farm and seeing the many different kinds of birds, including the eggs. The farm animals were also great, and both my kids tried milking the cow. The staff at the farm were super friendly and kind to the kids. Besides this, the spa is absolutely magical and if you are even wondering if you should try it, the clear answer is YES! My daughter and I had an amazing, restorative mother-daughter treatment that included a massage and facial, in the open air to the sound of a waterfall. Afterwards we relaxed in a hot spring pool and were treated to fruit drinks (actually a chocolate milkshake for my daughter). The spa buildings are set apart from the rest of the property and gorgeous. It was incredible and a highlight of our vacation, which says a lot! …
My husband and I stayed for four nights in January and were very impressed. The cabins are spacious, grounds beautifully maintained with wonderful planting and the hot springs great, It was full when we were there, but felt very private. Good restaurant food, lovely staff. Shame they were doing maintenance work on the pool, but guess it has to be done sometime. Would love to return with the grandchildren one day.
We typically don’t stay in a boutique hotel. We did some research in the area and this checked off every box . It is like no place we have stayed in . We were with a group of 11 from ages 14 to 75 . Everyone loved having our own hot springs. We really loved the restaurant and had dinner here both nights that we stayed. The breakfasts were amazing and very gourmet. They gave us complimentary smoothies upon arrival which was so refreshing after our long drive. We really loved the farm animals and spent time milking the cow and seeing all the animals . The grounds are beautiful. The price was very fair for such a unique experience. The staff was all friendly and kind. This hotel is definitely a hidden gem !
