Nice resort in the "jungle" with spacious bungalows and volcano view. There is a small jacuzzi outside every room. The staff is very friendly and polite. The restaurant is very expensive though, if you have a car drive into La Fortuna and have dinner there.

We LOVED it here-- it was our favorite hotel on our CR trip. We loved the grounds, the pool, our room. We did a yoga class and loved that also-- amazing views from the intimate studio! ADORED Arlen at the bar-- he is an amazing soul! Loved going into the little town of La Fortuna to get coffee at red... More

Mountain Paradise is a lovely hotel. It really is. It has excellent views of the volcano, the rooms are great, the showers and tubs are novel, the breakfast tasty. If you're looking to spend a week reading a book whilst surrounded by manicured tropical garden then this would be THE place to go. Be informed, however, that if you're the... More

Recently stayed at Mountain Paradise with my wife and two teenage children. The grounds were beautiful and clean but the rooms felt a little out-dated and in a little bit of disrepair. To be fair, the staff was very responsive in coming to fix anything I complained about (broken bathroom mirror and toilet seat), but there were other things that... More

Room was clean and spacious. Bed was a little hard. Bathtub on balcony was original. Hotel grounds were vast and offered great vegetation and some animals. Breakfast was very good. Staff very friendly.

We traveled with our adult daughter and booked a 2 room unit that had a private pool. King bed in one and 2 queens in the other plus 2 bathrooms. Accommodations were right for us and even though the rooms are a bit dated and have no drawers we managed quite well. Main issue is that you are a $12... More

Title says it all. Had to move rooms in the middle of the night due to a swarm of army ants. Staff is great, infrastructure is dated. Having never been to CR before, not sure if this is the "standard" in hotel accommodations. Would not stay here again, cannot recommend this hotel except for the staff and the food which... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Mountain Paradise. The property has lush tropical foliage with many native birds and butterflies. Everywhere I looked I saw hummingbirds flitting about. Most all views were dominated by awesome Vulcan Arenal. The accommodations I stayed in was the master deluxe suite. It had rustic Costa Rica furnishings very comfortable bedding and very ample...
