This is a lovely property! We are so glad to have found this hotel. Comfortable, large room, delicious breakfast, close to La Paz Waterfall and Poas Volcano. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and the animals on property added to the lovely ambiance. A very special place and stay.

This is a little and intimate hotel in the mountains. With great views, very near to the Poas Volcano and some other tourists attractions. You won't feel like you're in a hotel, in a good way! The rooms are nice and quiet, the surroundings are extremely beautiful, there are some friendly dogs, some farm animals and a carefuly maintained garden....

We spent one night at this place and wished we had booked it for longer. Very pleasant house with confortable rooms and welcoming staff. The place is more run as a B&B than a hotel. Highly recommend it.

Tranquil and very friendly. Lovely with the kids, with animals to pet. We enjoyed our time here, and the location is stunning. There is no bar or restaurant so evening meal is a 10 minute drive into the nearest town (and many places are closed by 6pm).

We were greeted warmly, and delighted with our room. Imaginative, but ungainly. Nice rooftop lookout that was especially fine at night for stargazing.(Southern Cross ++) Peaceful and restful. Breakfast was on time, and really good. Missed some finer points like bird feeders reviewed as highlights, and grounds showing age. Dinner nearby was barely adequate.

This was the first place we stayed on our trip to Costa Rica. We loved it!! It's funky, artistic and has beautiful flowers everywhere. There were donkeys, dogs and chickens, dairy cows, a stable with a calf. The atmosphere was conducive to mingling with other guests. We met some great people from Austria, Michel & Helena and we celebrated Helena's...

A tour guide, familiar with many hotels in this area, heartily recommended Altura. We were absolutely enchanted! It began with very helpful staff, speaking fluent English since Spanish is not one of our languages. The property is in a beautiful location, with incredible views, night or day, of the central valley, miles away and thousands of feet lower. We had...

We enjoyed our stay in this nice and spacious room, which can even be heated. The breakfast is very good, however the breakfast room is rather cold. There is an excellent view into the valley (San José) and to the mountains in the South. Volcano Poas is rather close to the hotel.

Being one of the closest hotels to the National park, it allows you to get to the park early in the morning before the clouds (and the crowds!) arrive. Great rooms (complete with a heater, which, believe it or not, you will appreciate!). Nice breakfast in the company of hummingbirds and very nice panoramic terrace.

Best and spacious room. Beautiful and modern design, Paired with great rustic and chalet feel. The modern yet rustic feel. Super clean and very spacious. The perfect combination of a country's place and modern luxury! Enjoy a breathtaking view!
