Stayed here on our first night in Costa Rica. We drove from the airport which took about 2 hours. You finally come upon this remote, peaceful property with hilltop cabins, lovely gardens and a gorgeous waterfall a few steps away. Our room was spacious with a super comfy king bed, and a wonderful outdoor shower fashioned like a waterfall. We...

... to adequately describe Hotel Quelitales! If you enjoy nature, you MUST visit this place. The environment is peaceful & soothing. The staff is marvelous -- nothing (and I do mean nothing) was too much to ask of Jose & his crew. On our last morning, we had some fresh fruit left over from earlier in the week -- we...

Without repeating what other reviewers have said... it is definitely an interesting drive to get there. But going through some of the rural towns made it even better. The Hotel is in the middle of nowhere and it just feels so relaxing! cabins are very rustic but somehow kinda luxurious too. the outdoor shower was a real highpoint.. the homemade...

Hi marleycat, We really appreciated the time to make this comment so cute, to know that Your really liked the outdoor shower with homemade soap and enjoyed our food made with love and warmth. A big hug and I hope to see you here again in this house. José.

Hotel Quelitales far exceeded my expectations, which were pretty high to begin with. The location is peaceful and remote at the end of a long road up the mountain, and the grounds are beautiful with bright, colorful flowers everywhere and a lovely waterfall. Checking in was a breeze. We were given homemade coffee bean soap and taken on a quick...

We got dreadfully lost in San Jose, the GPS wasn't working, and when we went to the back-up GPS, we discovered that we had never left the city! So we were three hours late, the restaurant closed at 8 pm, we thought the desk would close also and it started to rain. We called the Hotel Quelitales to let them...

This is a very difficult review to write. Unlike previous reviews, our experience was very different. We traveled as 2 couples and were booked into 2 rooms, Suite las Reinitas & Suite las Mariposas, each cost $250/night (including breakfast). Doing a quick online search today, I see the rooms offered for lower prices. I also see a January promotion for...

Hello janpski2017, I feel that your stay was not what they were thinking, of course I remember very well talking on the phone because of health I was in San Jose, so on arrival I had left a welcome bottle of wine when you told me On the mouse which is likely to be true never before step but this...

You drive through villages of smaller and smaller size until you run out of road and continue on worsening tracks for which a 4x4 is probably the best idea and eventually after a further 3km you arrive at reception of the hotel. We were greeted very warmly by the staff and owner and shown to our cabin which was actually...

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at this hotel to go rock climbing which is nearby (Escalada Cachi). Very good rooms (clean, unique, quiet), terrific hotel restaurant (inventive/safe-to-eat cuisine, nice selection of beers, wines, and cocktails), wondrous Wi-Fi (strong, broad coverage in both the rooms and the lobby/restaurant), and very friendly staff and owner (Jose).

About 30 minutes away from Tapantí National Park and an hour and a half drive from San José, Hotel Quelitales makes the perfect escape from the city. Our cabin was spacious and had a spectacular view of the rainforest. There was no TV, nor a phone, the perfect setting for relaxing and enjoying the sounds of nature. The staff is...
