We just returned from Costa Rica, stayed in three hotels and this place was really wonderful. Absolutely beautiful grounds, the rooms were fantastic with canopied beds, gorgeous views of the volcano, the best shower ever (outside, covered, stone enclosed), jacuzzi tubs in the room! It felt like true luxury in paradise without luxury prices. The food in the restaurant was... More

Pros: gorgeous property and landscaping, spotless rooms decorated with locally made wooden furniture, lovely open air restaurant surrounded by koi pools, nice menu, good but not fancy, two small but pretty swimming pools, one cool, one very warm, and a little swim-up bar. Waking up there everyday was so amazing--it's so beautiful. I kept having to pinch myself. So very... More

If you're coming to Costa Rica to experience the Rain Forest, then this is the place to stay. It's built right into the rain forest with such care that you hardly notice you're in a resort- a real hidden gem. The breakfast buffet (included) was fresh, with lots of choices, and plentiful. The ceviche at the restaurant was the best... More

I am sitting on my balcony of Lost Iguana right now. I can't remember ever feeling so HAPPY and PEACFUL. My view is of the Volcano...straight ahead and spitting out steam so close I feel like I could touch it. The room is huge and BEAUTIFUL. We even have a jacuzzi on the veranda. The bird, frog, jungle noises are... More

I think my next trip will be my 10th, and I'll stay at the Lost Iguana. It's on a very large piece of ground, not by the road or the noisy place next door, and it still close to everything. The hiking trails rival the ones in the Hanging Bridges and you can even walk to it if you want... More

Just returned from five heavenly nights at this very special place... it is a little off the beaten track, so it is best if you either have a car, hire a driver, or plan to do tours daily, as they pick you up and drop you off. This is a little slice of heaven, especially if you are into the... More

We just returned from our stay and cant say enough about the beauty, uniqueness and friendly service at the Lost Iguana! We would definitely go again and would highly recommend it to others! We visited in November 2011 and stayed for 3-4 days - our room was a luxury suite with volcano view and the fact that it rained non stop for days and we didn't actually see the volcano at all in our entire time there wasn't really a problem as the room was gorgeous - huge, super king sized bed, with... I really enjoyed my stay at the Lost Iguana in March 2010. The staff was friendly and the rooms were very clean. It was so amazing to wake up in the morning and see the volcano from my bed. The grounds were very nice with lots of birds. I saw toucans hanging out in the trees on several occasions. It... More

This is a lovely hotel surrounded by lushness, flora and fauna. We got a great deal on Groupon, in a basic room. The room was attractive and roomy, with a small refrigerator and a balcony overlooking the volcano. The birds sounds we woke up to were like nothing I had ever heard. There is a bird feeder is right outside... More
