We love Casa Valeria and every year continue to return. The owners are very helpful and have always taken the time to help with all our needs. Right on the beach it's located smack in the middle of the bay in Samara and never feels crowded even in high season. We love the bunglows and the shared kitchen is always...

We stayed at Casa Valeria last week during the G Adventures Basic Costa Rica tour. The hostels location is amazing, the rooms lead out directly on to the beach. This is the perfect location to end 2 weeks of adventure! There is plenty to do in Samara such as surf lessons, snorkelling, dolphin watching.

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The beach huts are literally 20 steps from the ocean, the hammocks outside are a perfect chilled area and the rooms are cleaned everyday to keep the sand out as much as possible. My only improvement would be air conditioning but the fan works reasonably well

We really enjoyed staying in the beach bungalow. The manager was attentive, the accommodations were simple but totally adequate and the ocean was perfect. There is a supermarket nearby and we found the communal kitchen very clean. One only has to walk down the beach on either side of the property to find tasty restaurants. Hey it ain't the Ritz...

Location of this place is unique! It is essentially on the beach. Bungalow #6 is great -- it faces the beach and is just about 40 steps away from the water, with hammocks and palm trees right outside the door! This is not a 5star resort, but you get to live right on the beach. We found this place amazingly...

Been to this hotel twice on visits to Samara. Chose to go back to this place mainly for the location. It is not the most comfortable place in the world. My mother paid for a bungalow with AC but it did not work. But to wake up and be able to walk right into the ocean for $40-50 night is...

We spent all of our 3 nights in Samara at Casa Valeria. Casa Valeria is set right on the beach which makes you instantly feel on holidays. The location is however the main asset. The rooms are basic on not the cleanest. Also the communal kitchen, which you have to use as there is no breakfast, is not very clean.

We stayed in one of the cabinas that opened right onto the beach, can't beat that! Our cabina was very rustic, but clean and had everything we needed. The owners are nice, the prices are reasonable, I'd come back again!

Amazing bang for your buck!! I went with 3 friends during a break in our study abroad and paid ~$100 each for 5 nights! Right on the beach (literally sand outside your door), hammocks everywhere, decent kitchen for cooking. Overall, amazing

What a great place to kick back and enjoy life. If you are looking for a luxury hotel or resort, this is not it - in fact, this is not your town; but if you are low maintenance and looking for basic accommodations right on the beach where you can walk barefoot through the sand to restaurants to Pato's Surf...
