Stayed here with 2 families with 4 smallish kids pretty quick drive to playa reyal and a 25 min walk from there to playa conchal! The house had an almost private pool and kitchen with lots of dishes also had an amazing patio! Ate at big mamas house up the road. Would definitely stay again

Had a great time in Villas la Paz. Andy the host was very helpful, gave us all the info on what to do and made our stay unforgettable. We (me and my girlfriend) stayed in Casa Naranja and we brought our dogs which was a plus. The near by beach Conchal (Puerto Viejo side) was a dream beach, not crowded at all and great for relaxing, no waves at all, clear blue waters and perfect for a nice stroll too. There are lots of other beaches we went to by car, we recommend to have a 4x4 if you want to explore and feel adventurous. Many areas are just minutes away by car so you wont feel stranded there but this is definitely a place of the beaten path just to relax and enjoy a beautiful beach and lots of wildlife. We will be back for sure!!

We stayed in the Pink Villa and had an awesome experience! The Villa is unique with an open air dining and living area. We were steps away from the pool and used it everyday. The bedrooms were comfy and cool. Andres was a fantastic host. He organized his “second momma” to come in and prepare an authentic Costa Rican meal for us and he planned for Carlos to take us to experience sea turtles at a local beach one night. He also recommended many beautiful beaches to explore. We wanted a true Costa Rican experience and we got it! We certainly hope to come back.

Villa la paz is located very close to the parking of the conchal beach. Our cabin had a beautiful terasse made of wood and was decorated with cute golden lightning. The first day we arrived we encountered a wild skunk and differnt kind of tropical birds. The host Andy was very helpfull and kind. Loved the green area around the pool:)

We stayed here in March,2018 as a family of 5 in a villa for 8 people. The villa was huge, it can easly accomodiate 8-10 people. There is 3 bathrooms, 2 double beds, and 2 bunk beds.Rooms are really clean. It has it's own outside kitchen, which is fully equiped. Also it has it's own private pool.5 minutes car ride from the quite beach, you must ti have a car to stay here, because it's suited in a real jungle. Owner and lady that helped us are really great people.

Catch 22- I want everyone to experience the beauty and seclusion of this magical place- & I want to keep this secret to myself.... if you love to explore nature unspoiled this is the place for you. The grounds are kept spotless, the staff is friendly-our heartfelt thanks to Daniel for helping us during our stay he went above and beyond -everyone is willing to help in what ever way is needed. The owners are as gracious as they come. The local beaches are lovely and unspoiled, the view of mountains in the distance and a few islands can be seen standing on the shore. We stayed in the red villa, tucked away in a private area surrounded by lush gardens, bananas trees, palms and a wide variety of foliage, beautiful butterflies and the calls of the howler monkeys can be heard in the distance. The beach is about a ten to fifteen minute walk-you also have access to a pool area. This is a remote area, if you do not have a car(we did not) bring good walking shoes, & plenty of groceries! Amenities: bbq grill, stove w/oven, coffee maker(coffee supplied) ,s&p, refrigerator/freezer.There’s a couple of markets about 2+ mile walk by beach route. It is limited on what it stocks. Next trip I would bring some seasoning from home non-perishables and items not available locally. My only note is if you have physical disabilities or health challenges there’s a lot of uneven ground, it’s hilly and lots of walking. If you’ve rented a vehicle there are restaurants in nearby towns. Not recommended to eat at the Condor Lodge next to the villas- it is worth seeing the beautiful views-If you get a chance to take the ATV ride it is worth the 60$ each for single riders and 70$ double riders. This is our favorite vacation destination.

The host Andres gave us good directions to reach Villas La Paz (which is within Condor Lodge’s second entrance) as well as good directions to reach the three nearby beaches (Playa Conchal you can reach within 15 mins walk, Playa Minas and Playa Real are both within close driving distance) and advised when was the optimal time of day to go (Playa Minas in the morning and Playa Real for sunset). Make sure you wear bug repellent and sun lotion. We stayed in the yellow villa, they had air con, but no safety box. The kitchen is situated outdoors with a pantry. There is a hob, oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, rice cooker, plenty of kitchenware and utensils. There was a bag of coffee to welcome us. They had salt, pepper and oil for cooking and a gas bbq. Make sure you go to the supermarket before getting to the villa as there as no shops nearby, but there is a restaurant inside Condor Lodge. There are plenty of fruit trees and birds flying around, we also heard howler monkeys and when we were driving we saw iguanas on the road. The red villas next door had a swimming pool we could use which was great. When we went to Playa Real to see the sunset, we happened to come across volunteers releasing baby green turtles into the ocean which was a pleasant end to last night in the area. Andres and his family invited us for breakfast before we left which was such a nice gesture and it was really nice to sit down and get to know them. They even gave us tips for our onward journey!

We booked the Red Villa, but due to it being slow season and during the week we were offered an upgrade. We ended up staying the in Casa Blanca and it was amazing! It had a small private pool, a gorgeous huge open air kitchen/dining room and multiple bedrooms/bathrooms. Pablo was our contact there and it was perfect. We loved reading out by the pool every night. The Wifi connection was great, however once you went into the rooms and the doors were closed it dropped but as long as we were out on the patio it was great. The main pool/jacuzzi off the pink house was also beautiful!
It is a little hard to find since it is in a bit of a rural area, but if you follow the directions they send it is easy to find. It is a short drive to the Bahais de Los Piratas. This bay was our absolute favorite place to watch the sunset. Grab a couple Imperials and head down to breathtaking views. The town of Matapalo is a short drive and they have two small supermarkets and a couple bar/restaurants. Beware, most did not speak much English, but we were able to work out way through ordering food and drinks. Charleys had amazing Chifrijo!!
We not only loved this place but have been telling all our friends about it and hope to book it again the next time we go!
