Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
No hot water! Didnt notice that in advertisement. Stayed in downstairs studio, it had a fridge and microwave but no soap or utenls or plates. The place had that gross strong disingfectant smell to mask smoking and old matress oders which come out as soon as the air conditioner is not on cold. Cigerette holes in the sheets! STINKY pillows! I had the feeling she rents the apartment to to a heavy smoker who sleeps in a small closet like space in back when she rents it to tourists. It should be half the price, its a scam. I would have checked out next day but had a bad cold and wasnt up to the stress. I was getting bites at night under my pj's, creepy. No screens but hole in door. NOt walking distance to decent beach which is Flamingo as advertised. Unless you walk about a mile on non pedestrian main road and risk heat stroke. I looked around for a bike to get to beach on but didnt see a rental place so didnt make it to beach that day. So treated myself to the Surf Box restarant next door which is lovely with cushions, music, books to borrow, and healthy food. But its not cheap which is why its not real busy . The next day the missing owner appears for checkout. When i tell her i was looking for a bike shesays she has one but they are locked up in shed. Why she doesnt have an information sheet with all this and how to get bus or cab to beach if you dont have a car, or where stores are is just par for the innadaquate course. I thought of getting in pool but was afraid she might appear and say its not swimmable right now. She seemed nice but in it for the money not the guests most 5thenjoyment. If you dont have a car, a local phone, dont smoke, want hot water and clean beds dont stay here.

My family and I were in the place two nights, Giannina is very friendly and helpful, she gave us everything and also has a good price too. It has pool, BBQ and a place to rest. the AC is not working well, there are fans on the room too. The parking lot is ok but is mixed for all the visitors(not individual) and the place is a big house, full of rooms(Not separated). The beach is close the place, 200 meters, but is not the flamingo beach, because flamingo is like 3 km from the place. FREE WIFI There is a grocery store near were you can buy everything to eat. The place is nice, but there are things that can be better.

I love Janina she is cool she gave us what we needed to stay for the night! We were arriving late, drive around other part of the coast in guanacaste this location is near the beach its pretty walkable and theres a spanish tapa that just opened $2 for a beer that comes with patata frita.

I loved my stay there and the place visibly has been upgraded. My studio by the pool was clean and comfortable. It had what I call a rustic charm and I don't mind a lukewarm shower when it's brazing outside (I call that a tropical shower ;) ).
I loved being so close to Flamingo (for a fancy drink at at sunset) and Potrero (more chilled out) yet feeling away from everything. A couple of nice restaurants literally next door, the beach, supermarket and bank within very short walking distance, that's all I needed.
And Janina is one of the kindest persons I've met in CR.

Please skip this one. Room was very dark and damp. Bedlinnen not washed or on the bed for months. Bathroom smelled mouldy. The pool was dirty. We left to find another hotel. The whole place looked like it was never maintained since it was converted to a “hotel”

Gianina will rob you blind if you let her. She charged me one price, and I paid in advance. I decided to stay 2 extra weeks, and gave her the cash, then she said I owed it to her, and kept the money. She charged 40.00 for laundry services, which were ridiculous. The pool had algae in it the whole time I was there. She flipped the electrical breaker to shut off the AC in my room.

As most of the reviewers have written, unfortunately not as advertised. Very dark room, very dirty house, no signs on the street (our shuttle driver had to call the owner as there was no clue of where the place was). Its a big house in poor conditions with a couple of rooms for rent. We felt very uncomfortable and we would have ran away immediately if it wasn’t for the too much money we had paid for the night (about 40$?!). The owner told us that we have not paid for a/c (also a big ?) so we got an extremely dirty fan, even though there was a broken a/c system in the room. Would not recommend to stay here.

Perhaps thirty years ago but not now to all pictures on site. AC did not work and owner was educated by me with 55 years knowledge. Little was right from the three inch gaps in door to filthy pool. So very sorry we are here.

This is not what the pictures said, the place is dark, untidy and dirty, The pool is dirty and you can hardly see anything, and the place is under refurbishment or it is what it looks like (I doubt that's happening but just to give you an idea) No reception, no organisation, the guy didn't expect us, rooms quite disappointed and smelly. We had 2 nights stay and walked out as soon as we saw the place. No sign or entrance. There is a little hotel 200m up road, a bit more expensive but really worth it.

Beautiful cozy and confortble, great view , the owner is the Best , she was really Nice with us, really helpfull , she treat us very good, the pool is Big and Nice, the ubication is the best, close with everything, bank and the sea is almost right there un front the place , supermarkets a couple metros, beds and bedrooms is really Nice, delicious breakfast, is a good restaurant beside the place
