I have been in this Hotel for two nights. The rooms are ok, but not special. Cold water, no AC, smelling towels. And a dog that barks troughout the night as well as a very noisy bar nextdoor. All in all not the best option in Samara.

Cool looking place right at the beach, with a great restaurant on the sand. We had the best coffee of our entire 4 week stay in Costa Rica here. The room, however, was not for the faint of heart. The small size, cold shower and uncomfortable mattress made for a difficult sleep (what can you expect for $80/night for 4...

We thought we had gotten a good deal for $60 a night, but we fout it hadn't been clean and when we went to ask for towels the owner bald man with dark glasses shouted " TWO ONLY TWO" and that is what we got for the tree nights we were there. We stayed there because there were no other...

We found this place by walking up and down the beach after arriving on the bus. We were traveling with two little kids (4 and 5 years) and wanted someplace with easy beach access. This place was PERFECT. We rented the 2 bedroom apartment for the most reasonable price on the planet, and stayed for almost a week. Definitely the...

We stay here one night thinking it was a wonderful deal at $30 a night. The room was ok no air but a fan. The nightmare began at 1pm. A dog begin barking every hour for ten minutes. This went on all night long. The next morning I went to checkout at 6am. The guard and his sleeping dog were...

We left the hotel after one night because of the loud (and trashy) music from the adjacent bar. The room was ok, but rather dark. The hotel has no reception, so we always had to search someone or ask at the restaurant. there are better places in town. the good thing is the location next to the beautiful beach.

Locanda reminds me of the motels our family stayed in at Osooyoos BC. Plain, simple rooms, clean but no frills. The location is unbeatable and the restaurant serves good food (try their water buffalo boccincini and tomato salad/ and good breakfasts). I have read a few reviews about peeps complaining about bugs and ants. If you leave food on the...

The big plus about this location is that its located at the beach front and next to a surf school where you can rent surf boards. The downside is: - rooms are a bit cramped - its very warm in the rooms and there is only a fan - rooms are noisy, music from very nearby bars plays till late...

We were there for a week in August 2011 as a family of 4. We had an apartment so we would not have to go to restaurant every day. It was cheap but for a reason. They never came to clean or get the garbage and we had to ask for clean and dry towel more than once. We stayed...

This was our second to last hotel stop on a two week vacation across Costa Rica. What a nightmare. The entire room was covered in ants. Lighting was dark and depressing. It felt like a jail cell. The only redeeming quality was the ocean side restaurant.

“Don't forget to also try the bar next door for really nice maki sushi. and I know my sushi (vancouver). Kayak to Isla Chora for a snorkel and see the huge iguanas. Also great Thai at a miniscule 5 table restaurant just behind the office for Samara Properties on the main street. The summer rolls are fantastic.”
