The hostel is close to everything you need and not on the main street so you can find some peace and quite. It has two kitchens with all you need for make your own meal. We stayed in a private room without bathroom. The room was clean but when considering the price (45$/night) it sounded wierd when they told us...

The Matilori is only 2-3 minutes from the beach and is close to everything like grocery store, drug store, information offices for tours. The pace is clean but the kitchen is a bit small. The staff is nice and it is very quiet at night.

Hostel Matilori is where it's at! Only two minutes from the beach and close to everything you need in town, the hostel has such a magic and a chilled out, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. It's a super sweet place that if you come to Samara you must try to get a bed! The garden area is great for socialising and meeting...

If you are looking for budget-friendly yet nice accommodations in Samara, you can't go wrong with this hostel. Of course, it's still a hostel —with basic dorms, shared baths, and a few, also basic, private rooms— but its small size (maxing out at about 16 people), practical kitchens and nice, well-kept common area under two big mango trees providing fresh...

I really enjoyed my stay at Matilori, there's only 2 dorms so it's nice and small and easy to get to know other guests. The owners Jenny and Fran are lovely and welcoming, it's not often you get to meet the hostel owners. I was only meant to stay 3 nights but ended up staying 6, it was hard to...

We were hesitating at first to stay at a hostel in Samara, since it can be great fun if the people are fitting but it can also become the worst nightmare. The latter is something I would like to avoid in a 2 week vacation. Gladly, it turned out to be the absolute best choice we could have thought of....

We stayed at this hostel in July 2016. After reading great reviews, we reserved a three night stay. We are seasoned budget travelers and staying at a hostel is not out of the ordinary for us. We are a family with two kids, and we were also traveling with another couple that also has a child. Unfortunately, when we arrived,...

It is very unfortunate that you didn`t enjoy your stay with us. Please be aware that this is a hostel and not a family hotel. We cant ask our guest to go to bed at 8 so your kids can sleep. We have a reasonable quiet time at 11 well readable for all guests and if someone doesn`t respect that...

A nice hostel near the beach! Staff were really helpful, the common area had a good selection of games and a nice book exchange! The two kitchens were great as the space was never crowded and they were well equipped, and the little kitten Simba provided entertainment!

Hostel Matilori was one of my most favorite places while traveling trough costa rica for the second time. A home away from home in an amazing place Samara. Very clean for a hostel and the perfect place to relax and get the real Pura Vida feeling. Jen & Fran arranged a dolphin tour and it was amazing. They help you...

I began a 3 month solo trip through Central America in Samara and was looked after her by Franc and Jen excellently. It has a very homely feel and I found it difficult to leave! I spent the week at the language school but Franc and Jen invited me to different things going on around the town which was brilliant.
