The Tamarindo Bay Boutique Hotel was an unexpected stop on our vacation. Our airline canceled our flight and we needed 2 rooms for 2 nights. The hotel was highly recommended by friends and it exceeded even what they had told us. This is a very special hotel. Stepping through the door of the hotel we were instantly taken by the calm zen feel. The staff took care of us like we were family, checked us in and showed us the property and what to expect while we were there. This fabulous 17 room hotel is located in the middle of Tamarindo, the secured premises felt like a hidden oasis. The property is spotless and lush and the rooms perfectly appointed. A shady open air breakfast area was great and exactly what we needed, fresh scramble eggs or omelets, fruit, pasties and cereal if you like, they even had gluten free bread and crackers... AND GREAT COFFEE! The pool area is lovely with a comfy couch, loungers with access to filtered hot and cold water and the honesty bar...WE loved it there. The town of Tamarindo is minutes by foot (on a dirt road, but most roads are dirt), great dining, coffee shops, spots to listen to music, groceries and the beach. One of our many highlights was walking to the sunset both nights and passing a huge tree with 30+ howler monkeys eating mangos and on the move. Joe, Bathsheba, Marie and the whole staff, including the furry ones, Lilly, Turbo and Delilah, have created a Boutique Hotel that will capture your heart and nurture your soul. Marie even shared her homemade gluten free lemon cake with us. Thank you for taking care of us with your warm, kind, genuine hospitality. HIGHLY Recommend. We'll be back!

I cannot rave enough about this place. My wife and I stayed here during part of our Honeymoon trip to Costa Rica. From the moment you check-in, the staff if wildly attentive to not only your personal needs but also to the cleanliness of the hotel. We looked forward to the breakfast on the terrace every morning before reading by the pool or walking (the very short distance) to town and time on the beach. The boutique seriously gives you the most private, tranquil and relaxing experience amongst the back drop of downtown Tamarindo. The staff is amazing, the location is unbeatable and the overall vibe of this place truly encourages you to slow down and take a deep breath! We can't wait to return!

Wow - spoiled now! First time staying in an adult boutique style hotel and we loved it! Marie and her staff were so attentive, the place was spotless, hot breakfast was included, tours were arranged and the while we were right near the town, it felt like an oasis. Loved relaxing by the pool, sitting on our balcony drinking coffee and listening to the birds while spotting a monkey or two. Fun to also meet other travelers. It is easy to walk to many delicious restaurants, beach, market, grocery store, etc. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend for a great small hotel experience.

Our stay at Tamarindo Bay Boutique Hotel was nothing short of amazing. Marie and the rest of the staff were extremely accommodating and helped us plan some great excursions, as well were just great wealths of knowledge regarding the area. The morning breakfast was delicious and was a lovely way to start the day. The pool area was a welcome escape from the beach and the surrounding grounds are so beautifully kept. We would 110% recommend to anyone travelling the area. Bonus point for Marie’s sweet pup on the property ❤️

Tamarindo bay boutique hotel was the perfect retreat in Tamarindo! After spending all day at the beach (5 min walk) and trying all the amazing restaurants and bars in the busy town, this hotel was like stepping into a zen oasis. The rooms are beautiful and the hotel was so peaceful and quiet. The staff here are amazing and helped us organize excursions, recommend beaches and restaurants and truly gave us 5 star service at this amazing price! Breakfast was amazing every morning with Costa Rican food + traditional continental style options on their AMAZING breakfast patio. We loved our stay here, thank you Tamarindo Bay!!!

TBBH was a wonderful place. Close enough to walk to the nightlife in Tamarindo, but far enough that you're not disturbed by it. The hotel is managed by Marie, a British expat, who you'd think was the owner of the hotel, with how attentive she is to making sure you have a great stay. They were super accommodating to us when we wanted to leave our bags before and after check out, and the room we stayed in "Bamboo" was first floor, just a few steps from the pool. It was a large room, and felt very airy and comfortable. The shower is outdoors, but completely private and it feels like you're showering in a garden. Amazing! Highly recommended for adult/mature/mellow travellers.

This is the second time we spent a week at this place. It did not disappoint. the warm welcome from Marie felt like coming home. She is just awesome. This is the perfect place to decelerate and enjoy life. There are not many rooms and all the guest are in a super friendly mood. But what blew my mind was the almost insane amount of cleaning I observed. Someone from the staff is constantly cleaning benches, chairs, tables... even the books in the mini library are cleaned daily!!! We alreday booked for next year and we cant wait!!

This boutique hotel is really lovely, adults only and quiet. Our room was opposite the pool, great room, very modern , clean and spacious. It’s situated very near to the main strip but far enough away to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the surroundings. The breakfast was great , we weren’t sure what to expect but we stayed for 2 weeks and the only hot option of eggs or omelette became abit monotonous after the first week. Maybe some warm home cooked bread be a nice touch. The pool surroundings were great but the pool is mainly shaded all day so it’s very cold. I was disappointed with this but it wasn’t a big deal. I dipped but refrained from swimming, too cold for me. Marie booked several trips for us which were awesome, we really enjoyed them and she had answers to everything we asked, thanks Marie! The fridge with the honor box was a great touch, especially the first night we arrived , nice cold beers were essential. I’d recommend this place for a treat, it’s unlike anywhere we have ever stayed. Maybe update your wristbands, they really are cheap looking. Tamarindo Bay Boutique Hotel (Adult inclusive) is a great mix of quality service, well maintained, amenities and great location near the beach but off the path of bars and shops. The owners/staff were more then courteous and helpful w/ activity recommendations. There breakfast bar is made to order. This was our first trip to Costa Rica but after our amazing experience at Tamarindo Bay we will plan our return to this great gem.

Marie was a wonderful host! She was in contact with me to ensure my needs were met from before I even left the States. My stay exceeded my expectations, and I found everything I was looking for in the Tamarindo Bay Boutique Hotel: peaceful and well-maintained surroundings; close proximity to town and the beach, but far enough away from the noise to allow a restful stay; a delicious, freshly made breakfast every morning; and answers to all of my questions about town and local happenings. I definitely recommend the Hotel to solo travelers, like me, or couples looking for a relaxing getaway.

We have several facilities nearby that provide this service. You can walk to some or we can arrange for a taxi service to others that are not within walking distance but only a 25 minute car ride away.

No airport shuttle. My parents took tamarindo tours shuttle from the airport for $20 pp. it was about 1 hour away but almost all hotels are an hour or more away from the airports.
There are more places to choose from in the Tamarindo area.
