My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Costa Rica and we were blown away with our stay at Los Altos De Eros! Everything from the room to the service to the food to the spa was exceptional. We also booked yoga classes in the yoga shala which were great and all the people were very helpful and so great in accommodating all of our needs. The Eros suite was very clean with a stunning view of sunset and we absolutely plan on coming back and bringing some friends along as well. The Romantic spa dinner is an absolute must!

The photos don’t quite show the beauty and peace of this place. We were looking for 6 days of relaxation and LADE delivered! The food is amazing and they were super accommodating and creative with my gf and df diet. Chef Javier is simply amazing! We are not typical spa people but this is an experience not to miss! The pool is refreshing, the howler monkeys and sunsets spectacular. We enjoyed working out in the outdoor spaces too! The outdoor shower adds to the romance. We don’t often repeat visits but I know we will be back!

My wife and I stayed 4 nights in one of the suites, choosing the suite mainly to get the complimentary local transportation, which worked out well (we didn't have a car). The setting is gorgeous and we truly enjoyed the communal table for meals that we ate there. We met some great fellow travelers! Breakfasts were very good; one of our only overall suggestions would be to have more variety in the breakfasts. Chef Javier was excellent, as a chef and such a nice, caring person. We did the weekly cooking class with him. Managers Monica and Ari were outstanding! Monica helped us arrange our own day trip to Guaitil, for a wonderful experience shopping for pottery and having lunch at a local home. Ari is just the NICEST person! One minor downside was that the spa (massages, etc.) was more geared towards day visitors/groups than to hotel guests. Availability was extremely limited (another couple felt the same way). Massages must end by 4:00 unless you book the dinner package. No one did this while we were there, so the massage area went unused every day after 4. The hot tub was always available to hotel guests, so that was nice. We used the local transportation to go to Playa Avellenas and Tamarindo. Housekeeping was superb, they even found a perfect pillow for me. The location is pretty isolated, that's part of the beauty, but you need to know that in advance. Take your time, chill, and enjoy!

This was our 25th Anniversary, and I had spent months planning our trip to Costa Rica for us and another couple also celebrating 25 years. I picked Los Altos de Eros based upon the glowing TA reviewsso my expectations were very high! The hotel location, staff, and the amenities all exceeded those lofty expectations!
Upon arrival, my wife was quite ill from travel. Our host, Ari, was very attentive to her needs, escorting her directly to our room. The management and staff were all very helpful and friendly our entire stay.
Our entire Costa Rica experience was wondrous, with breathtaking views, unique wildlife, and so many excursion options. There is something for everyone in Costa Rica and the concierge was very helpful when choosing and booking excursions. LADE was an ideal refuge to relax before and after those experiences.
The meals were fabulous. Chef Javier created gourmet experiences with delicious entrées while attending to specific restrictions. Breakfast was very generous and gave us a taste of local fare. We tried eating in Tamarindo, and while the food was decent, it did not measure up to the meals we had at LADE.
At times, it felt like we had the place to ourselves, and it was easy to find a quiet corner or the jungle canopy net to watch a sunset. I purposely chose Los Altos de Eros Boutique Hotel for the more intimate experience rather than a large all-inclusive resort, and it was well worth it!
If you are looking for a more quiet and intimate retreat during you Costa Rica experience I highly recommend Los Altos de Eros Boutique Hotel.

LADE delivered a fantastic anniversary week. The daily breakfast is outstanding, and they can adjust the timing a bit if you are leaving on early adventures. We had dinner on property a few nights to rave reviews. Renting a car was great for us--we had activities planned and wanted the freedom of movement. We did the couples spa and dinner combo--WOW! Super romantic and fun. The staff is very helpful and offer personal care. I highly recommend LADE!

This is our third time back and we will be back again, and again and again. 5-stars doesn’t even cut it. LADE is 10-star plus. This is the place we look forward to traveling the most to get away from it all, be in the most serene and beautiful environment, lounge by the pool, go to the spa, eat amazing food, and just relax. This is hands down the best place for a couples getaway and the staff really know how to serve up the romance. They set up a romantic candlelit dinner table for us and all the details they think about really add to the ambience. The food is amazing! Chef Javier and his amazing staff are hands down the best. We ate out in town one night and regretted it bc the meals at LADE are much better. They also catered to my dietary restrictions and were exceptionally mindful of what I could and could not eat. I really appreciated that. The staff is amazing. We have made life long friends at LADE, people we still talk to and stay in contact with. We were sad to leave but excited to plan our next trip back. I selfishly don’t want too many people finding out about our little secret in the middle of the jungle because I fear it will be booked when we want to go. But I can’t keep it all to myself so I guess I will share. You will thank me and all the other hundreds of reviews for convincing you to book. This won’t be just any other trip. This is the place where lifelong memories are made. We can’t wait to go back and also looking forward to planning a whole hotel takeover so we can show our family and friends what we have been raving about all these years.

This hotel and spa is really lovely. The staff are very friendly and work diligently to make sure everyone is comfortable. The food is delicious and my wife told me the spa was phenomenal. Highly recommended. We stayed in the Casa Bella and that was super peaceful. You can hear the wildlife from your room and enjoy the incredible sounds.

My husband and I spent 4 days here and absolutely loved every minute. The staff was so helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They absolutely saw to our every need and usually anticipated them without us even having to ask.
The location on top of the mountain is stunning. The view from the infinity pool was amazing. The entire property is so intimate and beautiful. I loved the open air fitness facility. Lifting weights while watching the sunset made workouts so much more enjoyable. We also loved lying in the jungle hammock with a glass of wine at sunset as well.
The food…WOW…the food. We consider ourselves to be foodies and my husband is a vegetarian. They made a variety of dishes for both of us that were amazing. We ate nearly every meal at the hotel because they were all so good we didn’t want to miss one. All the seafood and vegetable dishes we had were fresh and delicious and beautifully presented as well. Definitely instagram worthy food!!
We stayed in a poolside king suite that was beautiful. It was so nice to just open the door and step into the pool. I also loved lying in the lounge chairs by the pool in the evening listening to the howler monkeys. The outdoor shower was a nice, very Costa Rican touch.
We visited the spa twice, only planned for once initially but it was so great we went back. It was definitely one of the best spa experiences of my life and I have visited luxury spas all over the world. The open air treatment rooms overlook the jungle / mountain top and are stunning. It was so tranquil to have the massage with a light breeze and the sun warming the table. The aromatherapy also made it so peaceful. Be sure to bring your swimsuit so you can partake in the beautiful hot tub. Lunch included in the spa day package was excellent as well.
I would absolutely not hesitate to stay here again. In fact, we are already trying to talk friends into coming and renting the whole resort for a family retreat. We can’t wait to come back!

Room was excellent and clean ,pool area had a great view of the hills and forest,. Staff was laud at front and kitchen,so it was hard to take afternoon naps. Restaurant closed at 8 pm and all the staff left. Breakfast was cheaply presented and not similar to other high end hotels

From the moment we walked into this gorgeous resort, we felt the warm embrace of Costa Rican hospitality. My husband and I were traveling and celebrating our shared anniversary with another couple. The flight was rough, and Ari (manager) recognized immediately that my friend felt ill & needed some TLC. Ari whisked her to her room, settled her in and then came to address the rest of our party. We were just on time for dinner and enjoyed our first of many phenomenal meals prepared by Javier and his excellent team of cooks. The rooms are beautiful, clean and well appointed including an always icy cold carafe of water. The Resort itself is gorgeous. I love the openness of the layout and that the lobby is adjacent to the open kitchen, where I enjoyed the always friendly greeting of the busy cooks & catching a glimpse of the prep for our next delicious meal. The pool is refreshing, the wildlife surrounding it is entertaining (monkeys) and fascinating (so many birds) and the poolside loungers are very comfortable with a perfect mix of shaded and sunsoaked chairs. The Jungle Canopy is brilliant and so fun to hang out on! We each enjoyed a wonderful spa treatment, the ladies at the spa were excellent. General Manager Henrike and managers Ari and Monica were so attentive, friendly and engaging. They didn't hesitate to help whenever they could, and beyond that, I feel like we made some friends. This is not all the giant all-inclusive type place; it is very personal, very quiet and comfortable. Also, to stay here and not take advantage of the amazing food would be a mistake. I can honestly say that I have never eaten better, anywhere.

Hi Nancy- Thank you for your question. Tipping here is made very simple. In the spa, please tip your attendant after she completes your treatments. In the hotel when you check out, you will be given your statement which has a place for you to indicate the amount of tip you wish to give to the staff (it is divided equally between all staff members), Tips usually range from 10% to 20% or more.
