Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 young kids) stayed at the Tamarindo Village in early April. We stayed at one of the ocean view bungalows with a jacuzzi tub. I'm personally not a big fan of the town of Tamarindo, but we really enjoyed our stay there. It was like staying at home, amidst the hustle and bustle of...

Thank you for your comments telling others about your stay at Tamarindo Village! We are always glad to have guests report their impressions, and we like to point out that we sometimes (rarely) get polar opposite reports to the normal really good ones, from some folks. We are the same hosts, our hotel is the same hotel for everyone, just...

Just wrapping up a week stay here with our friends. For the price, it is a great place. What made our stay memorable was not the facility, but the graciousness of the owner. He went way above and beyond to make sure our Costa Rica stay went well. He setup tours, arranged transportation, helped with Reservations, and even loaned us...

Thanks, Sharon (and Leroy) for staying with us and for your nice comments. We hope to see you again. For those who do not yet know Tamarindo Village Hotel: My wife, Martha, and I have owned the hotel for 3 years now. The hotel itself, however, has been here for almost 30 years, and it is one of the original...

I am enclosing pictures of our stay which speaks more than words ever could. When we arrived you can see pictures of what the front office looks like. That should have been our first warning. There was apparently plumbing problems or something so the room we reserved was not available so Steve wanted us to be sure we had a...

This guest was one of two who stayed in an ocean view room on Christmas 2016. Due to some unfinished last minute construction work in the budget room they had reserved, we opted to move them to the ocean view level at no extra charge. They at first were pleased with this option despite the fact that the change did...

It was our 35th wedding anniversary and the pictures and reviews made this place (deluxe garden room with plunge pool) sound like the perfect place. When we pulled up there was major construction on one side and a garbage filled vacant lot on the other. Not inviting. With some trepidation on our part we walked up to the room with...

There is more to the story here than has been told, so I'll do my best to fill in important details. This couple arrived at the end of April for a reserved 4-night stay while our hotel was full, as were most Tamarindo hotels. I point this out because, being full, we had been turning potential guests away (2 the...

Tamarindo Village Hotel caught us a little by surprise. Not quite what we expected but we were delighted by the experience. It has the best bed and best the breakfast that we had on our entire time in Costa Rica. The villas are rustic and there are stairs involved, but they are very private and well appointed and we had...

Thank you for writing a review of Tamarindo Village and about your experiences here. We, too, believe that Tamarindo Village excels in several key areas: Our breakfasts and our overall comfort, which includes, importantly, our beds. Most people tell us that they really liked our beds, our breakfasts, and the overall restful and friendly ambiance here. It is important to...

This place is excellent. As soon as we went inside, the family was immediately wowed by how much space it had and how comfortable it seemed. As we went in and our hotel guide showed us the upstairs and the bedroom, we knew that this would far exceed our expectations and we would love it here, as later we realized...

The best recommendations for our hotel are those from guests who have experienced Tamarindo Village first-hand. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We like to think of Tamarindo Village as being a colorful oasis of relaxation just a minute from the fun of downtown Tamarindo and its world-class surfing beach. We want to provide value for our guests that goes...

We stayed 2 nights as we were driving up the coast. The hotel was 3 blocks or so from the downtown area, but well marked and easy to find. It was 10 or 12 min walk. We enjoyed the private deck with plunge pool at our unit--there are 3 units at the top of maybe 40 or 50 steps, so...

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Tamarindo Village. Yes, we are built on a hillside 300 meters outside town, which is great for views and peace and quiet. But being on the hillside means we have some stairs if you are staying on the upper levels and that might be an issue. But mostly it...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tamarindo Village Hotel is on a lush hillside and consists of 7 spacious and very private villas overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We are only 500 meters from Tamarindo's town center and similarly close to the beaches, restaurants and shops. Tamarindo Village is unique in Tamarindo: We feature private Jacuzzi-style plunge pools with ocean and jungle views at several villas; our average room size (well over 600 square feet) is double that of similarly priced hotels; Most of our rooms have large patios and gardens up to 500 square feet. Each villa has an open air shower in an extra-spacious bathroom. We also have a community swimming pool with poolside bar, and quiet and privacy guests won't find outside the highest priced hotels in our area, if even there. ... more   less
