Despite Hurricane Otto being overhead we had a fantastic time at this lodge. The lodge itself is about 40 years old, and although looking its age in parts, it remains comfortable and clean. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and the bedding dry. (in other lodges the bedding tends to be damp in the rainforest environment) Unlike other eco lodges, there...

We stayed Nov22-25 2016 This was our second stay here. (Nov 2015) This time travelling with another couple. We still love everything about this place, the wildlife, jungle and all the people who work here! We stayed in the bungalows which are across the street and at least a 15min walk from the main area. The ground is uneven and...

Ecolodge in jungle – bring ear plugs – animal nightlife and rain on the tin roof will keep light sleepers awake – rooms comfortable but nothing fancy – ceiling fan keeps it cool enough for sleeping. Friendly helpful staff – good selection and very good prices at gift shop. Covered pathways keep you dry if there’s a downpour. Enjoyed a...

We travelled to Sarapiqui as part of our 2 week honeymoon. After a false start due to hurricane Otto we had spent 3 nights stuck in San Jose desperate to escape to see the rainforest. We couldn't have wished for more from this fantastic lodge deep in the rainforest. The room was comfortable and clean with all the wildlife very...

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Selva Verde. Don't be put off by the property being off the main road there was no noise disturbance and when we arrived a troop of Howler monkeys was there to greet us in the trees directly behind reception! Gus was on hand throughout our stay to ensure that we got the most out of...

Lovely lodge tucked back from a busy noisy road. A real gem, with fantastic wildlife. Just shame that the road is so close, but you do forget it. Pleasant rooms. Basic food The wildlife and Ron theguidemakesit.

Sorry this review is a little late as we stayed in January 16 but we enjoyed our stay so much felt I should leave a review. We were on a two week tour of Costa Rica so only had one full day and night here. I wished we had at least two! The rooms are spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds...

This was a wonderful lodge. Very nice room with air conditioning. Good wifi at restaurant. At least a half mile of covered walk ways so you can watch the wildlife even if it rains. Plenty of wildlife to see here. We were fortunate that we were booked for two guided nature walks with Ronald and boy did he deliver. Frogs,...

We became "part of the family" when we recently stayed at Selva Verde on our travels around Costa Rica for our family. Gus is super friendly, happy and made us feel part of the family there - breaking out into song and really makes you smile. When they heard it was our honeymoon, they offered us an excellent (and potent!)...
