We stayed for 2 nights and loved every minute. As a wildlife lover it was like being in heaven, the day starts watching toucans outside the dining room at breakfast and continues until after dark when you can see sloths and poison dart frogs on the night walk. The staff were brilliant, very helpful and knowledgable. On a 2 hour...

Selva Verde Lodge is truly paradise on earth. If you can afford it, do not hesitate to stay here. I've stayed at the Casona suite as well as the River Rooms. The bungalows seem a bit too far for me but if you are a large group and fit and adventurous, it will be good as the rooms have a/c...

After a rather hair raising transfer, we arrived late to the lodge where we received a very warm greeting from the lovely lady on reception. She told us the restaurants would be closing soon so hurried our check in and booked us into the Italian. Lovely meal and friendly staff, particularly Eduardo. The rooms are basic but clean and tidy...

3 nights at Selva Verde Lodge just weren't enough! Wildlife watching made superbly comfortable. No pretensions, no dressing up required. Just good food (choice of buffet or Italian), free tea & coffee all day (very welcome), gorgeous comfortable rooms surrounded by the sounds of rainforest and a wonderful range of wildlife. The feeding station overlooked by the restaurant attracted a...

What an amazing place to stay to see the flora and fauna of Costa Rica. Being awoken at 4:30 am by the howler monkeys is quite an experience. They have a feeding station outside the lovely dining room(with GREAT food) and so many birds come to it all day long. The people are very friendly there and many tour/walks are...

We stayed at this resort for one night with our kids to go rafting on the Sarapiqui. The rafting was great!! The hotel was different, you are in rooms on stilts in the middle of a rain forest. We thought it was really cool. The rooms are clean, the breakfast was good, and the grounds were beautiful. Only drawback was...

The hotel is pretty basic, no air con which we thought would be a major issue through the night with the heat and humidity but luckily we slept ok. Food was ok, but the main plus point for the hotel is the wildlife that comes to visit the feeding station below the restaurant balcony, toucans plus loads of other birds,...

The rooms were comfortable in the main area of the Hotel where they are housed in bungalows on stilts. The area around this part of the hotel is heavily wooded and contains the delightful Howler Monkeys that give you a wonderful early morning call as dawn breaks. There are 4 rooms per stilted bungalow and the rooms are spacious as...

This review is based on 4nights/5 days stay at the Selva Verde. This lodge is quite nice; it has two restaurants, a bar and a bird feeder in front of the restaurants. This feeder is the centrum of attention as about 20 species of birds come to feed on a regular basis. Best is early in the morning (6-8 am)....

This well known lodge has very nice rainforest and garden areas where you can see wildlife, especially lots of birds. They attract birds with fruit close to the restaurant, giving good photo opportunities (including toucans, Montezuma's oropendolo, etc.). Rooms are a bit worn down, but we had a very nice one close to the river. Staff if friendly and helpful,...
