The staff could not be more helpful, my wife had been badly bitten and a member of staff found her something to help! The bungalow we were in was across the road from the lodge and about 1/4 mile up a dirt road. there was a house and about 10 wooden bungalows overlooking a pond and grassed area and our... More

This place was fabulous. We stayed during the rainy season and absolutely loved that. Our room overlooked the river and the deck came with two rocking chairs and a hammock. All the room are on stilts in case the river floods. You can walk over the river via the suspension bridge and explore the rain forest whose paths are kept... More

Great facility...we unfortuneately stayed here during rainy season, so much of time spent in the room. That said, the path system around the complex is covered by a tin roof, and there are trails which afford great views and animal watching. They have a suspension bridge over the Sarapiqui River, leading to a reverve they own they keep pristine, and... More

Stopped here for 1 night as part of Thomson Grand Tour of Costa Rica. Real eco-lodge with basic but clean and comfy rooms with en-suite. Set in rainforest with loads of opportunities to see wildlife of all types - frog, birds, sloths, lizards, insects, coti mundi, kinkajou etc, etc. Food basic but tasty and substantial. Nice bar for evening tipple... More

We stayed at the Selva Verde for 2 nights during our trip to Costa Rica. The reception is right on the road and i wasnt sure what to expect, but when we went to our room it was right in the depths of the countryside and via some stunning boardwalks to our wooden lodge. The lodges make up 4 rooms,... More

Selva Verde is a beautiful property with the most welcoming staff I've ever encountered. There is no shortage of beautiful sights to see including howler monkeys, colorful birds, a sloth and much more. We were welcomed by Gustavo and made to feel right at home. The food was plentiful and the room was large and comfortable. Selva Verde's driver, German,... More

This is a nice property for those who have not experienced the rain forest before. Rooms are relatively spartan but have hot water. Important to know that the only way you can walk in their private Forest preserve and see the primary old growth forest is to pay $25 per person for a guided tour - the only self guided... More

German picked us up in San Jose and his first words were do you want to take the highway or my way-we of course chose his way which was by La Paz Waterfall and took us to a lovely little restaurant with tons of hummingbirds and specifically for the Emerald Toucanette which was there in all its glory. The next... More

We really liked it here. The accommodation we were offered met our family needs perfectly, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the range of activities on offer ideally suited. There's a good pool on site and the guided forest walk we did was fascinating. We went on a family boat trip to spot the river wildlife (iguanas, caiman,... More

It is a beautiful to place to stay in the rainforest surrounded by wildlife. Perfect place to experience the rainforest- we had a very knowledgeable guide who showed... More
