If you want a sophisticated campground for a few hundred bucks a night, this is your place. Concept is great. Ecolodge. Reality. No comforts of home. We had a great fun dinner with drinks. But then were dreading the heat the next day, as we had tolerated it the day before. Not much to do if you don't want to...

Hello Criticdan, Your review with such negative content took us by surprise, and actually left us quite puzzled, as it not only contradicts your entries in our evaluation forms (!) but it sounds so strikingly negative compared to all the excellent reviews we have received over the years, that it could be interpreted as a review that possibly could be...

What a beautiful, peaceful place to explore and unplug. You can be as adventurous as you want - or just take in the beauty and nature peacefully. We loved the cabin, the food was great and thoughtful, and the activities were perfect. Definitely bring waterproof boots or shoes if you will be hiking. They will get wet.

Nestled between endless banana plantations and protected forests in the Talamanca mountains close to the Caribbean coast, Selva Bananito Lodge is what makes Costa Rica famous for ecotourism! It is just one hour from my favorite Costa Rican Caribbean attractions around the seaside towns of Puerto Viejo and also one hour from the Pacuare River outlet, my favorite for whitewater...

Along with a group of colleagues, we discovered and deeply learned about this unique place. We certainly observed in the first minutes the love and passion which has been invested in Selva Bananito. In fact, a reference point for any project on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica, where, against the stream, they have stopped illegal DEforestation, implemented ecological rules...

What an unexpected place!!! In the rainforest, on a ranch, with horses, hiking, waterfalls, off the grid. So cool!!!!! Only electricity here is Solar Powered, so bring flashlights. Lots to do, hiking, bird watching, horseback riding, tree climbing, or just hanging out in your hammock. Not the best place for small children in my opinion, not much of anything for...

My husband and I had our wedding and honeymoon at Selva Bananito in May 2013 and we cannot say enough about the place. The staff was absolutely incredible and made our stay there the most memorable of places we have ever been. Our tours were fantastic and we were perfectly matched with a guide that fit our style. The food...

We stayed for three nights and two days in early February and were amazed to be sharing with no more than a few others . The location is awesome and we were so sorry not to be able to stay longer - could have happily stayed for weeks! We took the Interbus from Playa Chiquita and were dropped at Delias...

This was our favorite part of costa rica. Was a little worried at first about Eco lodge but loved it. Horseback riding ziplining repelling and tree climbing all great. Saw lots of animals in rainforest. Great local food and very good guides.

Jürgen and his team did everything to make our stay as relaxing and interesting as can be. They served delicious Costa Rican meals at the "Rancho", provided for luxurious cabins right in the rain forest and organized rappelling, horseriding and treeclimbing tours. Fabulous! We are very eager to come back.

We travelled here for three nights with our 2 young children here over Christmas in 2012 and had a wonderful time. It is a bit of a drive to get there, but well worth it. The cabanas and the land are so beautiful, with no sounds but the noisy rainforest, and at night no lights other than the stars and...
