What a charming little hide-away! Casa Moabi is approx. 10 minutes with a car from Puerto Viejo and a 5 minute walk through the jungle to the beach. A surprisingly large dog and two very friendly owners greeted our carribe shuttle upon arrival, and made our two days a pleasant stay. The room was small, but clean, the common area was... More

I have stayed quite a few times in the puerto viejo area at several different cabinas and hotels. I truely love this great unique property.(my new favorite) The owner and the management were unbelievably wonderful at making me feel welcome and accommodating. The cabins were extremely clean and the property sits in a very active animal zone. (monkeys, tucans, parrots.frogs... More

Casa Moabi is in an idyllic setting, completely surrounded by jungle yet within minutes driving time to beaches and area attractions. A lodge could not be more peaceful. Every morning at about 5 AM we were serenaded by howler monkeys and a riot of bird songs. Our first day at the lodge a sloth appeared in a tree right next... More

We had a room for 3 with it's own bathroom. A good sized room, comfy beds, and it was cleaned every day. We enjoyed the breakfast there but sometimes we cooked our own - good facilities. Carsten was running Casa Moabi while the owners were away for a few days and I can honestly say that he helped us to... More

My husband and I stayed at Casa Moabi for 12 days at the beginning of September in the Pavillion, which was very spacious and well equipped. Casa Moabi is a great spot to start day trips, either by car or by bike (which you can rent there). Planning to stay only two nights, we kept extending and ended up staying five nights there. Four of those we spent in the cheapest room, which was perfectly nice and clean. The last night we got to sleep in... More

The photos caught my attention before getting to this place. I was looking for a quiet place with a personal touch and that I found at Casa Moabi. Fany and Thor really care about their guests, doing what they can to make their stay the best. The rooms are fine and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Rent a bike and... More

Casa Moabi is a great place in a beautiful location near a fantastic Chiquita beach. You can see all kinds of wildlife around including sloths, monkeys, and frogs. The rooms are comfortale and there in a fantastic atmosphere in the hotel. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. We wish we had stayed longer than two days.

Casa Moabi is about 15 minutes from Puerto Viejo at Playa Chiquita. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk through the lush jungle to the beach. Tom and his very large dog greeted our taxi upon arrival. I don't think the taxi driver wanted to get out of the taxi looking at that dog! but the dog, while large,... More
