The lodge was beautiful, we just ate breakfast there, but well presented It states breakfast at 7:am but it was 7:30 before staff waited on guests. We had a small child and they have dogs that do not like children, it would have been nice if they had put them in office so we could eat and not worry about...

Great place with a private beach trail to the Caribbean ocean and the bungalow sits right in the jungle but has all the amenities needed for a relaxed vacation!

I have to say that the staff at the Shawanda Lodge was the nicest/friendilest I've encountered in awhile. Maria, Caleb, Mau and the rest of the staff awesome. All the food was 5 star. This was the most relaxing, beautiful setting. All the gorunds were clean, the cabanas unique. The flowers and wild life was amazing. This is a eco...

We had never experienced anything like Shawanda as we mostly travel in more mainstream tourist locales. My brother took us there last Spring and we fell in love with the natural elegance and style of the place. Our open air cottage was elegant, comfortable, & well designed and we loved the sounds and sights of the jungle setting. The dining...

In general Shawanda was ok. About the Breakfast, it was very good! It is a little far away from Puerto Viejo, but if you have a car, that is no problem, or if not, you can always rent a bike... If you want to go to the beach, there is 5-minute walk through the jungle, you will find it awsome!!...

I just returned from spending a week at the Shawandha Lodge. This lodge is very special. The bungalows are on beautiful grounds with lush landscaping. We saw wildlife such as monkeys, colored finches, and sloths right in front of our bungalow. Our bungalow was basic, but nice. It's worth mentioning that the bungalows do not have glass windows, only screens....

We loved our stay at Shawandha! The Bungalows were absolutely beautiful. The beds and rooms were so comfortable and perfectly clean! Even though we were just a few minute drive from town, we felt like we were competely in the middle of the rainforest. The sounds at night were mesmerizing. We saw all sorts of beautiful plants, animals we'd never...

Feel like living in a jungle. The hotel room is a bunglow with lots of trees surrounding it. Bathroom walls are pictures made of ceramics tiles, very beautiful. Very friendly service, good breakfast. Close to a beach, shops and restaurants. We have stayed there for three nights. Enjoyed it. The owner is very friendly too.

We stayed for 10 days at Shawanda. The food was exquisite. Fresh fruits for breakfast & fresh squeezed OJ, with wonderful coffee. The dinners were phenominal. Fresh lobster, shrimp, etc. Every meal was exceptional. The area is really laid back with beautiful beaches and not a lot of people. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
