I would not recommend this place! Just stay somewhere else, and avoid the potential headache.

I have visited Puerto Viejo 10 times in the last 3 years and have looked at or stayed in many of the hotels and some houses too. Casa Verde is a beautiful, clean, perfectly located, affordable place to stay. I have recomended it to many travelers and all have been very happy with it. It is just 2 blocks off...

I arrived at Casa Verde on 01/11/10... during a horrible storm. My room was ready, and the hammock was waiting. I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 days spent here, even though the rain never stopped. The grounds are beautiful, and the staff works hard all day keeping things looking great. I stayed in a shared bathroom room, which was a first...

My friends and I reserved a room with bath at Casa Verde Lodge for the three days we were in Puerto Viejo. Considering the size of Puerto Viejo (and how quickly we saw everything there was to see), having the pool at Casa Verde to return to or even wake up with was the BEST decision we made. The first...

My husband and I spent the first weekend in this Hotel was a really comfortable stay, the staff was friendly, the price excellent, clean and comfortable cabins. The hotel has a nice pool, but water was always hot, shame! A large garden, lots of trees and birds singing all the time, was relaxing, in fact we did not have any...

We have stayed here twice. Once in a cabana and once in the apartment. The main gardens and pool are nice, but the apartment is on the street side and is very loud and does not seem as clean as the main cabanas. We were exhausted by the time we left because we got no sleep from the noise. The...

We arrived on October 15th around 7:30pm after traveling most of the day from San Jose (we arrived in Costa Rica late that same morning). The person at the front desk was okay..nothing to write home about. At first glance, our rooms were adequate..especially for the price we paid. However, my husband had set the tv remote onto the mini-fridge (which...

Casa Verde is a comfortable hotel in a good location. Puerto Viejo is a very small town and you should definitely stay in town. Casa Verde is right in town but off the main street so it is quiet. The bathrooms were average - there is hot water and it is clean. You get a cheaper price for paying in...

“All rooms are within the quiet of the compound. I doubt there is a bad room. A few rooms have to share a bath/shower for those on a tighter budget. Our room was in a row of about 4, and all had their own little patio entrance with a hammock.”
