Evergreen Lodge, which is twinned with Pachira Lodge, is a slick operation. Pick-up and drop-off in San Jose were handled efficiently. The bus journey was comfortable and the hour and a half boat transfer was excellent with stunning waterways to enjoy. Definitely do at least one transfer overland way rather than flying. The wooden cabins at Evergreen lodge with their...

A great place to spend a couple of days (although I could have stayed longer) -- great food, peaceful surroundings and it was nice to wake up to birds chirping and monkeys playing in the trees. Lots of flowers and greenery in the rain forest. No beach access.

Like so many of the lodges in the Tortuguero area, Evergreen Lodge takes care of all travel arrangements to and from San Jose which makes planning easier and it also means that the journey becomes part of the trip as an accompanying guide gives background and local information en route. We booked a standard room knowing that we would be...

An eco-lodge requires certain concessions. This lodge is accessible only by boat and is in a jungle. The plusses are the chances to see exotic birds, monkeys and other wildlife and the proximity to Tortuguero National Park (a short boat ride). The hotel grounds are spread out and the rooms are located in clusters. The room was clean and spacious...

We had the same experience as other reviewers. It is a marvellous experience to be so close to nature. The individual lodges are great and more than comfortable enough for the jungle experience. Even though everywhere seemed very busy, we never had to queue for long at mealtimes and waiting staff are very attentive at refilling drinks and offering desserts....

The only way to get to this amazing location is by boat (1:15 hours at high speed), and it really is away from it all. Nice rooms, on stilts, in the middle of the Tortuguero national park. Most visitors (maybe all) visit as part of an organized trip, including the transfer to and from the lodge, and a number of...

Be prepared to rough it in beautiful tropical surroundings. Prepare to arrive here after a 1 hour and 20 minute boat ride from Golden Grove. Room 41 was clean and comfortable with 2 double beds and a lovely porch with 2 rocking chairs Large walk in shower in the bathroom. There was no hot water for the sink but plenty...

Fantastic place to be surrounded by wild animals wile having the confort of a big, clean and functional room. If you need TV and Air Conditioned to live, don't go to this place. But if you enjoy nature and discovery, this place is unmissable.

Had a great time! The lodge is set in the middle of the rain forest and getting there is half the fun! You travel by boat to the lodge and can arrange for trips to Tortuguera. The setting is spectacular with a wide range of plants and animal life. It's not uncommon to have monkeys swing from the trees above...

Lovely welcome after a 1.5 hour boat ride at the dockside with a nice, fruit cocktail got us off to a good start. We had a lovely room which was away from the noisy areas of the site like the pool. Lots of good paths around make it easy to get from A to B. We were designated one of...
