Only accessible by boat. The accommodation is in wooden lodges on stilts, they are clean and comfortable but quite basic. The grounds are so beautiful you don't need to stay in the rooms except to sleep! In the morning you may be woken up by the howler monkeys, your breakfast table might be raided by white-faced monkeys (who are after...

We were here for several nights as part of our tour of Costa Rica. To get here its quite a long may be 20k on a rough dirt road and then a long (80-90 minutes) boat road to the resort, but its a great trip. The resort itself is quite eco friendly ie no AC no TV etc, but it...

Basic, rustic with no frills. Rooms are small lodges that have very little home comforts, no tv or air con. But you don't need these as the time spent out of the room to view the nature around the hotel outweighs the need. The food is not too varied, but all the same tasty.(I was on a tour package). There...

Quite basic but comfortable.. We used restaurant directly on the river which was stunning. Food was quite simple but tasty. Loads of wildlife to watch. From the multitude of birds to the monkeys and the reptiles.

First stop in our costa Rican travels. Busy little resort. Room lovely but not peaceful as it was by the domestic quarters which meant all day noise of hammering and laundry. Did complain but told it would stop at 5!not conducive to wildlife and therefore did not use the chairs on the balcony. The resort was fun. always something to...

Little to add to others reviews. Fantastic location and a real 'must' for the wildlife and location. But dining is functional - buffet food is average, wine can be ordered but tend not to, based on shared tables (up to 8) and a very swift turnaround. It works Ok for a couple of nights and it's worth it for the...

We drove for about two hours from San Jose through coffee, banana and pineapple plantations before transferring to a boat to take us to the Lodge. The rooms were individual cabins each set very attractively into the forest environment. The rooms themselves were simple but appropriate. There is no aircon but the fans keep it cool. The food was buffet...

Highly organised and very efficient, this lodge offers excellent accommodation with the jungle on you doorstep. Reached only by boat, the journey there is an experience in itself. The flora and fauna in the grounds are remarkable. Highly recommended.

Be prepared for an hour long boat trip to reach the lodge. The lodge is very well set up with comfortable rooms. The food is good, served canteen style with very helpful staff. Each of our river trips was exciting and there are plenty of animals and birds to be seen. Our favourite was a sloth nearby the camp that...

This was our first stop in Costa Rica and what a great introduction to our holiday it was. Great food, friendly staff, clean room, lovely swimming pool. Most importantly there was loads of wildlife: monkeys, toucans, lizards, an otter, caiman and lots more! Bar prices expensive but to be expected in such a remote location. Bring mosquito spray, got a...
