I stayed at this hotel two nights in November 2016. The hotel is reached by a one-hour boat ride from La Pavona. Pack light because luggage is taken via another boat. The water may splash on the luggage and it will never dry because the area is hot and humid. The employees at the lodge are very friendly and provide...

We spent a great few days here and it was truelly amazing. There is an abundance of wildlife though the monkeys were a bit too lively at 4am. What spoilt our stay somewhat was poor management eg we had no glass in our room which made washing our teeth difficult. Also the sheets on the bed were too small which...

A great way to experience the jungle - the 'bungalows' are spacious and whilst not luxurious they are comfortable - but not very sound proofed - so expect to be woken up by the sounds of the jungle coming to life in the early morning especially the howler monkeys. The pool and walkways are lovely and the staff friendly. The...

Evergreen was our first Lodge after leaving San Jose and was excellent but not quite to the standard of Trogon Lodge and El Remanso, also reviewed on this site. Having said that our room was great and the food was excellent, served with great humour by the girls in the canteen style restaurant. The pool and bar were always welcome...

We stayed at the Evergreen Lodge for two nights and wish it had been more. Just an amazing place in the jungle where you have your own private Lodge with walkways between leading to reception and the restaurant. Feels like you are sleeping in the jungle as there is no glass in the windows just mesh - so you sleep...

Looking for a genuine rain forest experience without giving in too much on comfort? The Evergreen Lodge is the place to be. Guests get a nice little cabin in the woods, close to the river. The rooms are open, so you can hear and see everything that's going on in the surrounding forest. No worries about mosquito's, because the cabins...

One of the most peacefull places to visit. You get away from and the modern distractions if life and see animal that you would only hear about on tv. Be sure to visit the town and the boat tours are the best.

Great destination, and very hot and humid. The hotel had some great people working there, including kitchen staff. However, there were holes in the netting in our cabin and many bugs got in, including hundreds of mosquitoes. We found this after we were bitten terribly, over-night. They need to be repaired regularly. Angelica, at the main office was not so...

If you want to see the turtles laying eggs there aren't many options apart from on organised tour. From what we could see compared favourably to other lodges. They pick up from San Jose hotels and take you to the lodge via a river transfer. Cabins in the forest are rustic but great to get woken up by howler monkeys....
