I thought for the price, this place was perfect. They picked us up at the airport as arranged and provided breakfast once we arrived. They were very good about setting us up for boat tour of the park. The pool was good as well as the food. The rooms are basic with no A/C but it is remote Costa Rica...

The place is nice (not fancy at all) and food is wonderful. What we liked the most was the people. The manager Manrique was always ready to help, the ladies in the restaurant were also super friendly and make great food and don't forget the bug spray!!! ;)

We stayed here for 2 days and one night. It was cherry on cake for us in Costa Rica trip. If we had extra time then I am sure we would have stayed there for 2-3 more days. It is absolutely serene place. At the edge of lake, inside jungle, very nice view of town. In the evening just sit...

The best part of this trip by far is the thirty minute boat ride to the hotel. A trip down a series of swollen muddy rivers with dense pristine jungle on both banks. The village Tortugera is a small rather deptressing place, Little more than a a row of run down shacks between the river and the beach. The hotel...

Would not recommend. Dishonest: We were so disappointed in the rooms (dirty, run down) that we asked if we could check out one day early and not be charged for the last night. The manager agreed so we left and booked at another hotel. Later we saw that they charged us for that last night and are saying not that...

Stayed one night as part of a tour and had 3 meals here. The food was very good, the folks friendly. This is the wettest part of Costa Rica (we were told there is no dry season in Tortuguero) but the rain, while it can be heavy, passes. Because of the wet, mosquitos are also on the prowl, bring your...

The rooms had everything you needed, but walking from the sleeping quarters into the bathroom was night and day. Bedroom area was beautiful with dark...

La Baula lodge definitely exceeded our expectations, even though they were already pretty low we ended up quite enjoying our 1 night stay. The stay were friendly and courteous, the drinks at the bar were plentiful with alcohol, and the menu at the restaurant had lots of options and the food, though not 5 star worthy, definitely was not bad...

The lodge is exactly as it sounds we stayed there as part of a tortuguero tour package. First you need to know that in order to get there you have to take a canal boat ride. It's a nice ride and very safe on a motorized covered river boat it sits low in the water but after 5 minutes you...

Nice and clean hotel with good service. It has its own pool, restaurant and bar and is located on one of the islands, about 5 minutes by boat from the main island. The happy hour at the bar with swings instead of barstools offered a nice way of passing time while we waited for our turtle-watching tour. The staff was very...
