My husband and I stayed at Laguna Lodge as part of a Caravan tour of Costa Rica. The rustic cabins of the Lodge sit on the river in the front and the Caribbean in the rear. The cabins were spartan, but clean offering two beds, a dresser, and a bath with a shower. There is no air conditioning, just plenty...

There are many options in this area and I'm not sure I would go with this establishment again. Yes it is family run, yes it is clear it supports the locals and is eco friendly BUT.... 1. the gift shop was a joke ... nothing in it. 2. the beds were harder than rocks 3. The fan in the room...

Good weather certainly enhanced our visit to Laguna Lodge. It takes a rather long boat ride from the dock to get there and when the water in the river is low, even longer, but interesting all the same as you enter the jungle habitat. The covered boat seats about 20 people. Arrival of guests at the lodge is made special...

Breath taking scenery with amazing rainforest tours. We went from sunrise to sunset but never felt rushed. You are made to slow down. There are no TV's/phones and the sun goes down at 6 pm. The sun rises on the Caribbean just outside our door. Rustic cabins with great food and service on a well maintained property. Love the pools....

No TV's/phones meant we slowed down. Early mornings were spent watching the sun rise on the Caribbean, just outside our door. Very satisfied with the food and service. Venture into the village to search for lower priced tour options. Take the 45 min walk along the sea back to the lodge. Unbelievable!!! Only Laguna & Mawamba Lodges are on the...

Our two family group stayed for 2 nights and 3 days and had a nice time. The lodge and grounds are very well groomed and the pool was fabulous for the kids. It was really cool to be situated between the river and the ocean. The food was ok - seemed to be geared towards a group tour crowd and...

We stayed at Laguna Lodge during our tour with Caravan Tours. I loved that you can only get to the lodge via boat! The Lodge is beautifully situated with the river on one side and the Caribbean on the other. We stayed for two nights in Room #1. The room was clean and comfortable. There is no air conditioning but...

You need to take a boat to reach this lodge. Once there, lots of gardens. The frog garden is best visited at dark. There is a botanical garden to wonder in. The back side of the property is the ocean. Nothing like the sound of the ocean coming in your window at night! The rooms are beautiful and have a...

Laguna Lodge is between the river and the Caribbean (easy walk to both) in the middle of Tortuguero National Park, which is a magical location. You have to come in by boat (it is that isolated) and you do feel like you are in the middle of the jungle. The grounds are beautiful--lots of birds, etc. The cabins (actually groups...

This lodge caters for quite a number of tour boats, and that considered is really pretty good. The cabins are fairly basic but clean, and the grounds of the lodge are attractive, 2 good pools, a nice bar & restaurant area and an interesting botanical garden. Lots of birds to be seen, including good Oropendola nests. The food is all...
