My 3 days and 3 nights in San Vito was an unexpectedly rich cultural experience. As a newcomer to Costa Rica, Roni provided a beautiful and spiritually uplifted "home in a garden" to land and orient myself. Along the way, she cooked healthy diet-specific meals, chartered me to amazing expeditions through primary rainforest and the botanic gardens, and helped me...

Finca Paz Y Flora was a perfect change of pace from commercial tourist sites The finca gave us a peaceful getaway where we were lavished with excellent local foods, gardens, and even hammocks - restoring our spirits and bodies. Our hostess, Roni, picked us up at the bus station, facilitated our trip to nearby Wilson Gardens, and made all the...

I absoulutely loved staying at this retreat. It really is a place that forces you to get away from the stress and strife of the everyday. The sights and sounds of nature are everywhere and you really become one with all of it. I also loved the fresh fruit on the property, as well as the opportunity to go pick...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We offer a quiet and peaceful tropical environment retreat with garden style living. Our guests receive simple and delicious meals prepared with local and organic ingredients. This is like a bed and breakfast, but with lunch and dinner, too. Since we are half an hour from the nearest town, we offer a package rate that includes all meals, transfer to and from San Vito, and the opportunity to relax and enjoy the local foods, flora and fauna of this wonderfully diverse bioregion. We can also help with tour coordination - in country transportation reservations and recommendations. We are located in a farm community, far from the cities and tourist activities, so we don't really offer tours, but will help coordinate any travel you want to do while you stay, and will arrange your transfers from San Jose to get here. We work with our guests to design their perfect retreat, whether it be to write a book, paint, meditate, or just hang out in a hammock and unplug from a busy lifestyle. ... more   less
