The room smelled like old cigarette smoke and moldy wood. The internet did not work in our room; a few good boosters would fix that, but the owners are clearly dead set on being so cheap it hurts. Speaking of hurting, the towels are sooo rough! They need better quality towels (they were old) and some serious fabric softener. There...

We have been staying at Hotel Pochote Grande for many years and have had a spectacular experience every time. Manager Manfred and staff are always very accommodating and the facility is very well maintained. Although not luxurious, the accommodations are everything you need and the location on the beach is excellent. Every time we visit we make plans to do...

This is was our first time visiting Costa Rica and Jaco. The hotel grounds are clean with lush tropical plants. The pool and restaurant are nice. Rooms have air conditioning and were in good shape. I would stay here again!

While vacationing in the holiday season in Costa Rica can be a great change in weather, it is not good as locals travel during what is called "dry season" which makes getting a room at a luxurious hotel a challenge. One of the only options that had enough rooms to accommodate our large group was Pochote Grande, it is a...

Stayed here a couple of nights in November 2015, it has a nice location, the beach is about 100 meters away. Rooms are spacious with high ceilings (make sure to ask a room on the second floor), nice bathroom and very clean in general. Breakfast are very good with different choices. There is a pool which I have not used,...

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and we would definitely come back! The rooms are spacious and clean and the mattresses were good (hard to find at beach hotels in CR). The pillows were a little old maybe. We stayed in room #23 which is upstairs. You have a mini fridge, a good working and quiet AC, a...

After 8 days of adventures and extreme sports in Costa Rica we planned our final days to be relaxing before getting back to the concrete jungle. First impression at our arrival was nice beach front hotel, pool, clean 40 or 50 rooms, A/C, small TV, WiFi, restaurant. Pochote Hotel is owned and operated by a welcoming German family or friends,...

We were supposed to stay here a today, but on our way to the hotel the manager (Manfred) called to tell us that the hotel was full! How is this possible if we had a reservation from a week before? No idea. If this was simply a lost reservation we would have noticed at the hotel front desk. But since...

Our family stayed here and had a great time. Rooms were clean and beds were good. Breakfast was great. Friendly service and very polite. Great atmosphere of a smaller hotel. Quiet area of beach, I didn't want to leave. Although thought room rates were a bit too much especially before busy season. I would recommend staying here by its on...
