Pachamama is our home away from home. We try to stay at Pachamama when we visit Mal Pais and when we haven't it's because it was full. We always try Pachamama first. Franz takes really good care of everyone and to him, everyone is family. He cares about people genuinely and cares about keeping Costa Rica beautiful as he honors...

My friend and I stayed at Pachamama for just over a week in January 2016. We cannot say enough great things about the place. Was near enough to places but far enough away to get away from the dust and people in the rest of Mal Pais and to really experience a relaxing holiday. Having cooking facilities in our accommodation...

Pachamama with Frans in Mal Pais We had to change our lodging because we didn't book early enough during the high season, and Pachamama was recommended to us, and I am glad it was! First off the property is spectacular. Almanceto who tends to and lives on the property, meticulously works to make sure the property is always looking pristine,...

Stayed here as a couple for two nights in Fenruary. Loved the cozy and funky studio type room with large shared front porch. Beach was just across the road. Franz, the owner made us feel completely at home as did all of his staff. Would definitely go back!

This was my second time visiting Mal Pais and Pachamama, and i can't say enough the amount of fun i had there. Its a great place to relax in the Jungle and watch the monkeys in the trees above you, or its just a short walk across the street to go sit by the ocean. If your looking to go...

This was my 2nd and definitely not my last time visiting Pachmama! There are so many things to do and the people at Pachamama are so helpful to make sure you get to do everything you want in Mal Pais. I could hangout in the garden all day and not feel that I wasted a day just because it's so...

Pachamama is my favourite place to stay in Costa Rica. The bungalow is clean and has a kitchen equipped with everything you need to cook for yourself. There is a large outdoor space (shared between two bungalows) with hammocks, couches, tables, and even an outdoor shower. The garden is beautiful thanks to Amancio! The howler monkeys even come over some...

We stayed there my sister and myself for three nights and we had really nice experience. The lodge is very charming surrounded by a tropical garden. There is a direct access to the beach at 200 meters. The owner Franz is very welcoming and made his best to facilitate our stay by helping us book activities to do in the...

It's amazing how everything is detailed with good taste and convenience. Very good located, both Franz and Venancio tried to make us feel at home, and they succeed. Rooms are really full equipped and we did not miss a thing, We are looking forward to go back as soon as possible.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pachamama Houses and Bungalows is the perfect place for people who like sports, nature, sun and beach. Only 1 km away is Cabo Blanco, the first national park created in Costa Rica, in 1963.We have two bungalows, each with a double bed and shared terrace for $60 a night, monthly $1400. A third bungalow is on a second floor with a double bed and private terrace. All lodgings are fully equipped with hammock, kitchen, fridge, fan, private bathroom with hot water. The house for rent has air condition and is fully equipped. There are 2 bedrooms, a beautiful terrace with BBQ, outside shower, hammock for $140 per night, monthly $2800. We have wireless internet, security 24 hours, private parking and cleaning service. It is the best option, for relaxing and enjoying the nature. We have a lot of wildlife in our tropical garden: butterflies, exotic birds and monkeys hanging around in the trees, and our coati, a sort of raccoon, which always comes to pick up his breakfast from us. The bungalows and the house are about 50m from the beautiful and quiet beach of Mal Pais. Here surfers find perfect waves year round. Air temperature is 30-35 degrees and water 24-26. We offer surfboard rentals and surf lessons. I'm a passionate kite surfer and if there is coming up some wind I'm in the ocean with a 16 m2 Kite. The wind is 15-20 knots from January to May. It is possible to rent a small house for $80 a night as well. It is fully equipped in a very beautiful and quiet place only 200m from the beach. Perfect location for 2 people. Monthly $1500We can reserve a hotel and transfer in San Jose, or book you a rental car in San Jose or in Mal Pais. ... more   less
